How do you install the garage refrigerator heater kit?

How do you install the garage refrigerator heater kit?
Asked by: Vicki
Search heater kit for your model refrigerator on you tube. I was given the impression that this works on all refrigerators with the freezer thermostat located in the fridge compartment. The heater cools the fridge into thinking the thermostat isn't satisfied until the system overcomes the little heat generated by the kit.

For Artie- These kits do NOT prolong the life of the fridge when placed in a cold location. They fool the thermostat into turning on the compressor to keep the freezer contents frozen. The only cold air is created in the freezer and is vented to the fridge. In a very cold garage the fridge stays cold enough that the compressor does not kick on very often and the freezer temp moderates closer to the fridge temp and may reach near or above freezing. Read the specs or installation and they say they can be used in places that have temps of 55 to 110 degrees F. Others may state they are garage ready. My attached but Not insulated garage usually stays in the 60's in the midwest near St.Louis. Rarely will it get to 56* overnight, when it is 10-15* out.
