Q:I need a long tubing to do continuous drainage. What is the size of hose for the pump?
by|Feb 12, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for reaching out, Peggy. It is recommended that a dehumidifier drain hose of 1/2" (12.7 mm) or larger be used. Make sure there are no kinks or elevations in the hose. We hope this information was helpful to you and your shopping experience. ~Ruth

Q:I would like to use the dehumidifier pump to pump up the water to between 4 an 5 foot. Will the internal pump do this ?
    by|Jan 24, 2024
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for reaching out to us. Instead of using the pump drain to discharge water, you have the option to select the continuous drainage feature. For continuous drainage operations, you will need a garden hose and a drain nearby to discharge the water into. You will see the operating instructions on page 10 of the Use and Care Manual for more information. - Maria

Q:What would cause ice to form on the vent side ?
        by|Dec 2, 2023
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  Hello, Gloria! If ice is forming on the vent side of your Frigidaire dehumidifier, it could be an indication of several issues. Here are some possible causes: The Unit is installed properly and Air flow is not blocked. If this is the case, relocate the unit and area with the correct temperature range of 41°F and 89°F, or if the Unit is not installed properly and Airflow is blocked, please Ensure the unit has 12 inches around the sides and 24 inches from the top. The filter should be pulled and inspected to determine if cleaning is needed. Unplug the unit, and allow the ice to melt. Plug the unit back in and slowly decrease humidity levels over a few hours to prevent the unit from being overwhelmed. If the issue persist, please don't hesitate to connect with us via Live Chat or call us at 1-800-374-4432 Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.–8 p.m. EST, and we’ll be happy to assist. ~ Sam

          Top notch humidifer
50 pint vs new 35 pint 1,100 sq ft basement The 50 pint achieves all humidity levels on medium setting The new 35 pint gets up to 55% humidity levels but struggles beyond Main Floor 1,700 sq ft w/ cathedral ceilings The 50 pint maintains humidity levels (on medium) but the 35 does not Sound They both are 58-60 decibels not 48-50 as manufacturer shows Final 50 Pint: Up to 2,000 sq ft for 45%+/- humidity levels on medium New 35 Pint: Less than 1,000 sq ft for ~52-55% humidity levels

broken and frost up after 1 year
This thing worked fine in the first season. However it failed to work with huge frost after 1 year with rountine filter change. See picture. I will be careful to spend almost 400 dollars for just 1 year.

                Ok but who designed this??
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First night it collected 2.11 gallons from a very humid basement running on continuous/low fan speed. But I have issues with its stupid design. Apparently all new dehumidifiers are designed to “look” sleek by putting the vent to the back and having a solid white front broken only by the line of the bucket. - very poor idea. Older models, when placed near a wall, worked fine with the vent and bucket access unobstructed at the front. But if you want to put this new design against a wall (best to have it out in the open, but people will always push it against a wall at some point) especially in smaller spaces like a hallway.) The vent needs to be unobstructed - the back side (where the vent is) needs to face out but it looks bad, cord is now on the wrong side, hose connection sticks out, etc.) - and then the bucket is on the opposite side towards the wall so you have to turn it around to empty the bucket. I saw a review with a photo where it was backed up to a furnace with the sleek looking front facing out - even though they gave favorable rating, they weren’t aware there is not adequate air flow to the vent in the back. This will decrease efficiency and reduce the life of the unit. The "splash guard" causes more spills when trying to empty it than without a splash guard. And the bucket fills ALL the way to the brim - it spills when trying to remove the bucket from the unit and then upon pouring it out- such a messy joke! This is something that should be so easy to fix. Also, the low fan speed isn’t low enough - (167 cfm versus 155 cfm on whirlpool). Condensation collects better at lower speeds. Wish it was slower - I will never be using the higher speeds. Best if it runs longer or continuously at slow fan speed than shorter times at hi fan speeds. I wish designers would actually use what they design.

                  Disappointed
Season 1: The unit ran fine. Season 2: The unit started icing up so I put the unit on a timer that turned it on for 30 mins and then off for 30 mins to allow the frost to melt. Season 3: The compressor will not turn on and there are no error codes. Scrap.

DO NOT BUY, UNLESS YOU ONLY WANT TO USE FOR A YEAR
Was good when it ran. Only one yr warranty, EC code error on year 2. DO NOT BUY. A crime that the return rate is so high. I will never buy a Frigidaire product (or any of its related companies) again. What a waste of of money and a waste of materials and landfill space.

Built -in Pump - 5 stars
Outstanding Service - Placed the order on 6/14 delivered on 6/17. Instructions - Connected the supplied drainage hose to the drainage joint ,making sure it was connected well so that it was fully seated . Ran the supplied drainage hose to the sink , which was 12 feet way and was 40” high off the floor. Outstanding Product - Turned on the unit and when the tank was full , the pump activated and emptied out the water into the sink . Exceeds my expectations !

Failed after two summers, bad customer service
After two years of use in my finished basement, mainly during the summmer months, this unit failed. It displayed an EC error code, so I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it began to run again. After a few weeks I noticed my basement didnt feel as dry as usual so i looked at the unit and there was a brick of ice on the back where the condenser is. I called customer service and they told me there was only a one year warranty and nothing they could do. Terrible customer service, bad product.

                          Response from FrigidaireSupportJun 6, 2022
We are so sorry to hear this! The EC Error Code is a voltage error. Check the following conditions. Outlet voltage should be 115V±10% and the surrounding temperature should be with in the range of 41 °F to 96 °F. Unplug the unit and plug it in again under normal operating conditions. Also, slow or restricted airflow can lead to the coils freezing up. If your dehumidifier is too close to a wall or ceiling it could also be trapping excess dirt and dust. We recommend that you keep your dehumidifier at least 6 inches away from any walls or ceilings. If none of this helps, please jump in a live chat with us on our branded web page or contact us through our Customer Support line at 1-800-374-4432 (M-F, 8:30 AM-8 PM EST). ~ Christy Frigidaire

                            Works great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dehumidifier with pump is doing a great job of keeping my basement nice and dry. I like that the cord is longer than the last dehumidifier I bought, but it can barely reach the outlet which is near the ceiling. I have the unit propped up on some boards to raise it high enough since you cannot use an extension cord with these. As these are used often in basements and they often have outlets only high up, it would be nice if the cords were all at least 8’.
