Questions & Answers

What color is this painters tape? Clear?

Your answer depends on how much paint crosses over onto the tape. If there is very little paint crossing over, then you can easily leave this tape on. The problem is when there is a heavy amount of paint crossing onto the tape and left to dry. When the tape is removed, the dried coating will tear and leave a ragged edge. So, try to paint your edge so that very little "overage" goes onto the tape. You will be fine. Be sure you press along the edge of the tape so there is a complete seal. You don't want any paint sneaking under the edge. Honestly, this tape removes with the most ease and does the least damage of any masking tape I have ever used. I hope that helps.

What do u mean by delicate? I need durable, as in outdoor.

Delicate is for surface you are taping. No tape will last long in the elements such as hot sun, rain and moisture so plane your timetable well

Can this be used on wallpaper with out destroying it

It is a good tape.

Poor product
I bought this in the understanding that the product was low tack. I used this on a painted wall which I had left for over 24hrs. When I removed the tape it has actually removed some of the plaster with it!!

Just what I needed
Used FrogTape delicate for the first time. I was on a tight schedule and had to apply to primer that had only three hours to set. I painted a harlequin pattern on a cork floor and the result was fabulous. I’ve read a few negative reviews and would like to point out that every pro job will need touch ups - part of the process. And make sure you press firmly on the edge receiving the paint first.

This tape is very good, it definitely gets the job done. My hand isn't as steady as it once was so I now rely on tape to produce a professional results. I've used the blue often and thought I'd give FrogTape a try. Its really good, better than blue but I can't say it's worth the price. The tape goes on easy, but it's so strong it actually pulled paint off the wall. Bottom line, if money is no problem then go with FrogTape.

Not a success story here. In some places, paint got under the tape. In other places, it pulled off the old paint (on the trim I had taped) or the new paint (what adhered to the tape peeled more right off the wall). I'll be fixing this for a while. Disappointed as I bought a brand-new, overpackaged roll instead of using masking tape I already had at home.

Pulls off paint and ruins your work
This tape is more expensive and consistently damages your freshly painted surfaces. It always pulls off the latex from the surface beyond the seam.

Better without this
This is the worst painters tape I ever worked with. I have tested this tape, other brands, and even painting with a small brush along trim and counters and to be honest, painting with a small brush along the trim is better. It may take longer but less headache. I wouldn't pay a dollar for 100 rolls of this tape, the quality is worse than sub-par. I tried taking the tape off slowly instead of ripping it off and it still took a lot of paint with it. They also advertise that it won't leak, but look at the photos to see for yourself. Not impressed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used FrogTape several times in the past without issue. This time I painted my crown moulding and let it dry for 2 weeks, then I proceeded with taping the crown moulding with FrogTape delicate and multi surface medium adhesion as I ran out of delicate. I painted the walls and the peeled off the tape and guess what? It pulled the paint off of my crown mouldings in patches both where the delicate and medium adhesion were, now I get to spend another 4 days painting just my crown mouldings. A very unimpressed customer!

Does not peel off with a clean edge
Waited for paint to completely dry and carefully pulled tape back which peeled the wall paint with it. Had to use a razor along the entire edge to prevent repainting the entire wall

Save your money & your walls
This product was definitely not sensitive. Pulled my other paint off the wall when i removed it. Previous paint was on walls for couple years but had some touch ups to do. Save your time, money and walls. Do not use this product. Instead of being ”sensitive” its the opposite.
