A:  Yes it does, assuming you install it correctly. I used a manila folder underneath to give the least clearance possible.

            A:  I cut it very easily with a tin snip and it works fine. You will need to drill a couple of extra holes but that was not a problem for me.

                          A:  Yes, but be aware that moisture may accumulate behind the mounting strip. If mounting outside, I would run a very thin line of exterior caulk along the top edge of the metal strip.

When installing you must include into your measurements the height of your door mat if one is being used.
