2 for each side and 1 for the top. You can save the remainder from the top for another installation unless you have a double door.

You can buy a metal flange and screw it into your door stops. Not sure why the Frost King representative keeps failing to mention this, but it may be that Frost King doesn't make them, although others do.

Not intended for garage doors. It is an entry door seal. Try getting a 1.5 or 2 inch wide welted weather strip for garage doors and nail or staple it to the bottom of the door. I replace mine every 4 or 5 years that way and it work well.

will this eliminate or decrease noise?

The seal is pretty tight so I would expect some noise reduction.

For future reference, Home Depot sells a kit that allows you to retrofit your door, so it can use this seal, and others like it. The kit is made by MD and comes with metal strips that you screw into your door stop. The kerf insulation then fits inside the metal strips. You can find these kits in the same location you'll find this product in the store.

just get another strip, and cut to fill in the void. when you shove them together in the groove, you won't be able to see a difference. I had to do that.

I recently install these door seals on 3 brand new exterior doors. The ones that originally came on the door either got dinged or lost during painting. These were easy to trim down to length and appear to be of better quality than the seals that came on the doors. However, the one issue that i noticed is that these seals make it much harder to close the door. I even had to adjust a few lock strike plates to get all of the doors to properly close. I compared this seal to a new one that we were replacing, and what i noticed was that the profile of the seals are virtually the same. The big difference is in the density of the foam core. With the original door seal you can squeeze the seal between your index finger and your thumb and it will completely flatten out. You cant quite do the same thing with the frost king seals. The foam in these replacement seals is much more firm and it does not compress down as flat as the seals that came on the door. After leaving the seals on the doors for a few weeks, I noticed that it was not nearly as hard to close the doors. So they may just need a little time to under the constant pressure of the door and the jamb for them to settle down into place.

It does not install as easy as they say
Fir my door it does not 'snap' into the space they show in video. I had to 'rig' it another way by prying apart the wood to get it to fit. It works after that but was kind of a pain in rear..

Frost King 1 in. x 81 in. Brown Vinyl-Clad Foam...
Frost King 1 in. x 81 in. Brown Vinyl-Clad Foam Kerf Door Seal I got these because I could literally see outside when my doors were closed. I needed a quick fix. Also my neighbors smoke was finding it’s way into my home! Once I read the instructions which were simple and easy I installed the Frost King 1 in. x 81 in. Brown Vinyl-Clad Foam Kerf Door Seals. Instantly the cold weather creeping into the house through the doors stopped, I could no longer see outside when the doors were closed and even better...my neighbors who sit outside and smoke day and night their smoke no longer can be smelled in my home! A plus plus I don’t have to inquire of them anything (peace) and my utility bills are much less than before. I chose these because the I needed to close the gaps in the door ways and got so much more than what I could have had imagined. If you need a sure seal this is the way to go. It’s light weight and made with really good materials and you will know the second you make that seal. Don’t let the lightness of the material fool you it’s extremely well made and does exactly what it’s name says and more. Please note: I had no idea the smells from the neighbors across the street were going to be corrected by sealing those gaps I was expecting not to see outside and not have cold weather creeping into the house, Frost King is indeed the best seals I’ve ever used and if you’re needing to close a gap or weatherize your home? Frost King 1 in. x 81 in. Brown Vinyl-Clad Foam Kerf Door Seal is the door seal you want and need can’t go wrong. I’d refer this one and everyone.
