A: This has never come up before so we don't know if it will work or not, so why not give it a try. If it does work, please post to the Frost King web site and to HomeDepot.com.
A: It would be best not to attach the foam weatherstrip to a freshly painted surface. Paint needs time to cure (completely dry Approx. 90 days). Stapling the foam into place is going to compress the tape and take away from its ability to properly seal. And the foam will still stick to the painted surface. Again, it's best not to apply any weatherstripping to freshly painted surfaces for at least 90 days.
A: Yes, it will do the same thing as the current weatherstripping, it just might not be as tight.
A: No, it cannot be painted. It will prevent the foam from sealing properly. It will harden and you would not be able to either close your door or window.
