Answer This Question

A:  The best range is between 40-70 degrees. Below that temperature, the tape will not stick well.

Q:Is it in stock at the store now?

      Answer This Question

A:  Don’t know. Please call your nearest store and ask.

      by|Nov 10, 2020

A:  Sad! Company can't even answer their own questions. I bought it a couple years ago to put over the windows inside. It wouldn't even stay stuck on the walls, let alone outside. Plus, you have to be careful because it's super thin and rips in all directions like cellophane. It's junk...don't buy it!

Q:I would like to know how close should i trim the plastic to the tape after i have installed it?
          by|Oct 14, 2020

          Answer This Question

A:  It doesn't really matter as long as the plastic fully covers the tape to take full advantage of the adhesive. I like to leave a little extra, just a fraction of an inch.

          by|Dec 22, 2020

A:  You can trim all the way to the edge of the tape, but I like to leave 1/2" just to be extra safe especially for older homes with wood frame windows and lots of air leakage.

              Complete waste of time
If you have a small window & are working inside... Maybe... I tried this on an 8x10 wood bow window. It looks terrible! I know these windows are drafty, suck all the heat out of your house in the cold northeast winters and cost many thousands to replace, but save up your money or find financing & do it right. This was a back breaking job. The tape does not stick to wood, even though I washed it thoroughly first with cleaners. You'll have to put staples in the tape to hold it securely. Next, pulling this tight is very difficult on a large window & the video of the hair dryer does NOT APPLY TO THIS PRODUCT. That is their indoor plastic on a small window. You will be left with it looking like you've hung plastic over an old window. Even all the folds remain & continue to show. Lastly, this plastic rips very easily so when trimming the edges with a knife it can tear holes in the sealed area. If really want to do this & you don't care what your house looks like I recommend having 2 people, a staple gun & about half a day. I do believe it will lower your heating bills.

I purchased 4 of these to have on hand to winterize my manufactured home. One for this winter. These go up allot ezeier than taping up pieces of clear drop cloth plasit. The only problem is not enough tape, at least for me. My windows are 30"x60" which means I have enough plastic to do 6 windows but only enough tape to do 4. I email Frost King before I purhased to see how long the roll of tape is. I did not get an answer to that but they did send me 2 rolls od tape.

...when placed on protruding windows or extended surfaces. I took it an extra step further; I used it in combination with Model # 18007 - Twine @ $2.57 (best available one at the time) and like a strap band it was placed around my screens. Efficiency went up, bill went down & no more drafts! See...?

Came loose after only 2 weeks. Tape is terrible
I installed this on the exterior side of two windows. I cleaned the surface and applied the tape as directed, then pressed the plastic film onto the tape. After one week, the film on one window came loose. I used packing tape to reseal it. A week later, the other window film came almost completely off. In both cases, the tape was still stuck to the window -- issue is that the film came loose from the tape. I removed the film and scraped off the tape. Product is terrible.

Easy to put up. Was able to hand stretch it for virtually no wrinkles. Double sided tape holds well. Have had high winds and lots of rain. Good choice.
