A:Â quality is good. thickness? don't know, but works well as long a grandchildred don't stand on it (our vent is in under a window) bought another to replace broken one, so that says something.

A:Â This product is made to withstand normal wear and tear when in use. Normally Heat & Air Deflectors are not placed in high traffic areas that would subject them abnormal wear and tear. Like vents, they are stagnant items, put into place and they do their job.

A:Â Yes - we use them on ceiling vents - but not "as is" - we break off the magent part and drill a hole so we can screw them down to keep them from vibrating loose - HOWEVER, you will find a better solution at www.1800ceiling.com

A:Â No, these do not work for typical ceiling mounted vents. The deflector is designed so that the magnets attach to the sides of the baseboard vent; there are little tabs on the back of the magnet faces that position the deflector away from the wall. So when you attempt to attach it to a ceiling vent the tabs prevent it from being attached to the face of the vent (like air deflectors made for ceiling mounted vents do) and the vent frame/sides are not thick enough for the magnets to grab the sides of the vent. However, I was able to attach it to my intake vents on the ceiling and walls because those vent frames are the same thickness as the height of the deflector magnets. I am hoping this description makes sense! (I use deflectors on intake vents because my town home was constructed with in and out airflow vents within 1-2 feet of each other in several rooms.)

A:Â I used this deflector on a window air conditioner unit. It came with two magnets, but I used velcro instead to mount it to the sides of the AC unit to deflect the air. It did an excellent job for my needs.
I don't think you can use it directly on a ceiling mounted vent if the vent is flush with the ceiling. You can use it on a ceiling mounted vent if the vent sticks down from the ceiling fabout one inch.

A:Â yes if the vent is metal. If not you can drill a small hole to put a zip tie to attach it to the vent.

I just needed an air deflector that would fit on my wide (22") air vent. It's mounted high on the wall. I wanted to deflect the a.c. upwards, as many advise. I've had this up there for a few weeks now. The magnets are holding well and I no longer get the draft of cold air that I was feeling when I sit on the couch.

Unit works well. Is made of clear plastic, adjusts as outlined. Magnets could be a little stronger.

A little more strength and versatility would help.
We purchased these deflectors for our extra large vents. As others had noted on their reviews, the vents could stand to have stronger magnets. It may also be more versatile if the magnets were not only between the plastic hooks to attach, from the sides but also that it could attach via the magnet from the back as well.
