Q:Can this be put down on a garage floor that gets damp with humidity? What about mold under it?
by|Dec 23, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  It is completely waterproof and should be installed on a clean dry surface. You could seal the floor to prevent moisture from seeping through and then put the G-Floor protector down on the dry, sealed floor.

Q:Does this material have a backing on it? Is this suitable for race car trailer floors that are susceptible to frequent temperature changes? What glue do you recommend to adhere to a painted wood floored trailer? Thank you
    by|Dec 16, 2023
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  There isn't any backing on this vinyl floor protector. You can still adhere it to your subfloor, but this product is most often used as a free-floating parking pad. This same pattern and material is available with a backing in the G-Floor line of trailer flooring. You can find the 8.5' x 25' length of Slate Grey large Coin-texture trailer flooring here: https://www.homedepot.com/p/G-Floor-Trailer-Flooring-Slate-Grey-Coin-Commercial-Vinyl-Sheet-Flooring-8-5-ft-W-x-25-ft-L-WPF75CN8625SG/321812253 If you plan to install your vinyl flooring in a trailer, you absolutely need to adhere it to lessen the effects of any temperature changes. Thanks for your interest in G-Floor and good luck with your trailer project, Anthony!

Q:Could this be used as flooring in a space where there would be multiple freezers and refrigerators on it?
      by|Sep 18, 2023
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  Yes, this flooring works great in an industrial setting like this. You'll need to adhere the vinyl flooring to your subfloor if you plan to have anything on top of it, so be sure to get an appropriate adhesive that's rated for the subfloor and vinyl.

Q:Can this be installed on a plywood floor in a screened in porch?
        by|Jul 23, 2023
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  Yes, this vinyl flooring is a great choice for your plywood floor. For an outdoor installation, you'll need to use an adhesive that's rated for the vinyl flooring and your plywood subfloor. This will mitigate any shifting of the flooring and keep it working better for longer.

          diy install for old folks
10’ x 25’ rolls weigh 150# each…This covers a 20x20 garage floor with only one seam down the center. One 69 yo above knee amputee and 62 yo 5 ft tall wife installed one roll per day over a weekend. Would be able to do it faster if we had to do it again but never want to ever have to! Here’s the lesson: The material comes rolled with top surface exposed. Unrolling from the top as you go might seem like a good idea but it isn’t. 150# doesnt work that way. We were able to move the rolls using a hand truck to lift sections so Three 24 x 18’ furnature dollies could be slipped under the roll. Best way to unroll would have been to roll the material face down on the driveway, measure and cut any necessary cutouts, and then grab the far edge with 2-3 people and pull it over itself walking backwards. It thus ends up easier to place and right side up. Leaving it in the sun for a couple hours on a hot day doesnt hurt either. Let it rest overnight before detailing, i.e., inserting flooring into any edging. Unload any wheeled carts or workbenches before rolling onto newly laid vinyl… or use a plywood or cardboard runway to prevent the wheels from pushing up a roll or bubble. Hard work but not complicated. Finished job looks amazing!

Thanks for your review! This is a great play-by-play and has some valuable advice: unrolling your mat and then pulling it over itself is the easiest way to install. If you're having trouble moving it, try "fluffing" the mat and getting some air under it. bltllc

The first week this product looked great , but over time it began to buckle in a small spot and then it began to buckle in more and more spots. Now I have a garage full of tripping hazards. I contacted the manufacturer directly and its been over a month and no response has been received,

There could be a couple of reasons for the buckling…If the mat is left free floating (not glued down) and has heavy items setting on it or is trimmed where it does not have room to expand in the warmer weather, it may buckle in places. The solution would be to permanently adhere it to your garage floor using an acrylic based adhesive. You might want to lay the mat outside in the sun to let the material relax prior to applying adhesive.

This was a quick, easy and effective solution to an ugly garage floor. Too early to comment on durability, but it looks tough enough to hold up to our daily foot traffic and the product seems heavy enough to keep it laid down flat.

It is very heavy when it comes and with only one delivery person my husband and I had to help unload it with both of us having joint issues, his hip and my shoulders. We should not have to unload it. I keeps the cold from coming through from the concrete in the garage and basement. Downfall, it gets slippery when it is wet. Adhesive or tape should be an additional option when ordering.

This product install easy and looks good initially, but is very hard to keep clean and stains very easy. I installed it 5 months ago and it looks like it has been on the floor for 10 years. When tires sit on this floor a brown stain results. This has happened with both of my cars and my golf cart. We can not seem to find a cleanser to remove the stains. A big waste of money!

                Super garage floor
Great looking and easy sweeping. Provides a clean, no paint, no peel, option. This floor is very high quality in material, looks, and maintenance.

Simple instalation, and it looks very nice.
We bought a new house and I planned to put this flooring down in the garage before we moved in. It didn't work out that way and I didn't get the flooring laid until 6 months after I bought it. It went down simply enough. My garage is 19' wide and 21' long so I used two 10'x25' rolls with the dark grey joining trim and front edge trim (trim purchased separately). I did it all by myself, and it was some work moving the heavy rolls around, but I managed. I had to trim a foot off the side and 4 feet off the end to get a finished look. I really like the way the dark grey trim adds a finished look to the product. The final result looks very nice. There are still a few "roll marks" in the middle of the floor, but the instructions say those will flatten out in time (and I'm sure they will). The trim, on the front (and to a lesser extent in the center) still has some bunching where it's not laying quite flat. I haven't used any adhesive yet to see if I that will help. I'll give it some time to see if it settles in.

                Great Garage Flooring
The flooring arrived on time and in perfect shape. It was pretty easy to handle by myself(a helper would have been nice} and cutting it with a razor knife was very easy and quick. It lays well on the floor and I think will be very helpful in keeping the floor clean.
