Product Overview

Pro-Start Eave/Rake starter strip is a key part of the GAF Smart Choice Roof System Solution. Using a pre-cut eave/rake starter strip will provide a cost-effective alternative to using cut-up shingles as your starter course. Includes a high-quality, properly positioned adhesive that will tightly lock your shingles in place to help prevent blow-off. Is easy to use and install, with no cutting on the roof.
  • Great performance dura grip adhesive locks the first course of shingles in place, reducing the risk of shingle blow-off
  • For maximum protection also install along rake edges to help protect shingles from wind uplift (and avoid the mess of hand-sealing the rake edges)
  • Eliminates waste quick and easy to install with no waste
  • Saves you time and labor no more wasted time cutting laminated and strip shingles
  • 19 full sheets per bundle (38 individual pieces)

You need the perimeter measurements, but if I was to guess, between 3-4 bundles. Each bundle will go 120LF. If you can find the perimeter measurements divide those measurements by 120.

How many lineal feet will a bundle cover ?

Small space? Expensive for a large area. If using leftovers may work.

Easy to use
As with most roofing projects we normally just cut off the tabs and use the rest for a starter course. Since we were close on shingles we went with the starter strip. Easy to use, comes in an easy to split 2 pieces. Just nail it up and your ready to go. Just a note if your using 39 3/8” shingles then cut 3” from the first starter strip on the eave. If you forget then just cut off 6” from the first eave shingle. On the rake they make easy work of the job.

Good starter, goes 120LF. Price is still a bit high but overall good product.

These starter strip shingles were easy to use and fairly inexpensive. They seemed to be more convenient than the starter strip rolls, which can be awkward to install especially for a single worker. (Images won't upload): http://enginuitysystems.com/pix/house/713_Porch_Roof_5421.jpg
