Q:There is a street lamp right in front of our post lamp that in the photo attached it almost looks like the post lamp is on. Will this effect the dusk to dawn sensor and make it think it?s daylight?

Awesome Gama Sonic Resin Solar Post Light - Model 96B50012
This is yet another fantastic solar light from Gama Sonic! It operates from dusk to dawn. By unscrewing the top, there is access to the 2 battery compartments, the bulb, and the switch (Low, Off, High). Since this light is resin, there is no worry about rust. It includes 2 installed 3.2V Li-Ion, 3000mA batteries with quick disconnects. Also included is a warm white, 20W-15, 180-lumen, 2700K-3V, 15-LED bulb, but other types can be purchased. There are 4 glass 3"x7.25" solar panels that collect enough solar energy to power the light for 17 hours on High setting and 34 hours on Low setting.
The size is impressive and attracts attention. The lamp is about 19" without the top ornament. This light includes a choice of finials - an acorn or an eagle (I love the eagle!). The height is about 24" with the acorn, and 26" with the eagle. The width is 10.75" at the widest part. It has a 3" round fitter with set screws to attach to a pole or a tabletop mount. I will be mounting this with a tabletop mount as soon as the snow and ice outside permits, but I set it on my porch for now, and it worked until dawn on the first night.
I have the Imperial II post light from 2018, and the performance is still excellent and have had no problems at all. It has outlasted all other brands of solar lights that I have owned. Occasionally, Gama Sonic includes a small gift in their products, and I was happy to receive one this time - a small mosaic solar candle light that charges in the sun and has an On/Off switch under the lid. What a great company to deal with!

we converted this pole lantern to a nice patio beach-theme table lamp
We are very happy with the light this provides. It arrives with sole purpose to sit atop a 3” metal lamp pole. The specialized A60 bulb is designed for solar uses and provides 2700K. There is a toggle inside the fixture to set the bulb at HIGH, LOW, OFF. There are times we’d like to adjust the light output at night, but there is no remote control or switch on the outside of the fixture. This is probably for security purposes – but it would be handy to be able to make adjustments without having to remove four screws. The light bulb is expected to last ten years and costs approximately $22 to replace. The light bulb’s threaded base size is called “European”. For the cost, we expected a metal frame but the plastic looks great from a distance. We were restricted on where we could use this fixture to ensure it got enough sunlight. The four solar panels help gather as much sun from all angles to charge the batteries. The panels don't have a negative impact on the attractive design. The light stays on from dusk to dawn.

Great Addition To Your Exterior or Yard
We mounted this light out at our mailbox. It works great and only takes about 30 minutes at the most to mount. What would make this good product a great product is a simple collar/plate adapter from a 3" Dia. pole to be able to screw onto a flat surface (e.i. the top of a 4x4). You're supplied an Acorn topper and an Eagle topper. Also included was a solar candle for inside, which was a nice extra.

Stays lit all night and produces an all-round bright light over a wide area
This solar lamp is a great solution for adding light in areas without an electric supply. It delivers a bright, soft white 2700 lumen light. We live in a rural area and have been experiencing an increase in mail thefts so we were looking for a way to light up the area around our roadside mailboxes to try to deter the thieves who always strike in the early hours of the morning. We put this solar lamp on top of our side gate fence and it works perfectly, delivering all night light on either the high or low brightness settings.
In order to mount the lamp, I purchased a 3” pier mount adapter from Home Depot which allowed me to mount the lamp directly on top of the wall beside our side gate.
The light is well packaged and is very easy to set up. The top unscrews and you insert the LED bulb and switch the light to either high or low mode. In high mode, it will run for 17 hours on a fully charged battery and on low mode it will run for 34 hours.
After fitting the bulb and switching the light on, you decide which of the lamp toppers (2 are included) you want to use and fit that on the top of the lamp and then mount it onto the lamp post or pier mount adapter. Four screws hold the lamp firmly in place on the 3” mounting base. The lamp is about 2’ high.
There are four solar panels that help the lamp collect sunlight no matter where you position it. The body of the lamp is made from black UV resistant resin and the lamp lenses are made from clear polycarbonate. These materials help keep the weight of the lamp down which makes installing it much easier.
The lamp is powered by two 3000 mAh 3.2 volt rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries and replacements are available from the manufacturer.
The lamp is made in China and comes with a two year warranty to the original owner. The warranty does not include LED lights, batteries or weathering of the finish of the lamp.

Very Impressive!
Right out of the box, this light impressed me. For one thing, you get to choose your top ornament, either traditional or flying eagle. I chose the Eagle. You also get a cute little solar candle in the box. The light bulb is a bit different and more robust than other Gama Sonic light bulbs I have in other fixtures, and it appears that this unit has more solar panel area than earlier versions. Before installation, I set the unit outside where it was only exposed to a couple of hours of cloudy sunlight, but it fired right up at dusk, giving MUCH more light than expected, and that was on the "low" brightness setting. I checked it again just before dawn and the light was still shining brightly!

So far it’s mediocre. Since HD’s “experts”
rarely have intricate product knowledge, I contacted manufacturer directly. For almost $200, one would think its ability to gather sun & dispense light, would be better than 5 hours a night. I even bought an additional battery for the extra compartment, with only slightly better results. Finally, Gama is sending out new top at no cost to me…so we shall see.

The reason for given 2 stars because for one the details online for the lantern said beveled glass which I wanted and its plastic. And the other problem is it's been fogged for weeks up on the inside from condensation so that means rain gets inside. So, I really should return it, but I haven't yet because it's an inconvenience to start all over again to look for something else. But the longer I wait the store will make it harder to return. It would be nice if it wasn't always fogged. It defeats its purpose.
