It's that quiet.
I purchased this model as a replacement for a 12 year old 35 pint dehumidifier. After reading the specifications, a 22 pint unit would suffice. The unit is positioned in the corner of an unfinished basement next to the sump pit. I'm using the drain hose attachment which empties into the sump pit. The sump pit is covered to minimize false humidity levels.
I am truly astounded by how quiet this unit is. On my old unit, I literally had to wrap bungee cords around it to try and stop the rattling noise. Had to shut the old unit down overnight as it was that loud.
It also brought the humidity level down from 59% to 45% within a day's operation. I have a separate humidity indicator at the far end of the basement.
Very happy with my purchase.

Nice product
Quiet and easy to set up. Perfect for our sump closet which is always damp. Great that this comes with hose attachment which I’m draining directly to the sump pit.

Quiet and has transformed our basement
Love the sleek design, the digital panel, quiet performance and the external hose connection for continuous drain option. After emptying the bucket up a flight of stairs for a month every morning I decided to connect a hose to the unit and run it to the sump pump. I have run continuously for about a month now and our finished basement feels warm and cozy and not damp and smelly. Was going to buy another unit to place on other side of basement but this one is a beast and handling the workload.

Did the job. Had small flood in the basement. Carpet pad was soaked. This dehumidifier suck all the water out of the bed.

Workhorse
We had a supply line leak within a wall and the water damage ruined the wood floor in our guestroom. The concrete floor underneath was completely saturated. We knew that a regular fan wasn't going to do the job. I purchased this GE dehumidifier and put it to work. Within a day or two, the concrete was completely dry. It is amazing how much water this thing pulls from the air. Easy set up, love the auto setting that adjusts to the humidity levels.

Quiet and efficient
Using it to generate drinking water with a filter added- getting 1-2 gallons a day to store in containers. A very productive unit even in an area where the humidity is often low outside.
