For RG6 with 450m legth the signal can transmit?

Asked by Barry August 3, 2015
1
Answer

Barry, the cable can send the signal no matter the length, the part that really matters is the signal strength. If the device that is sending the signal doesn’t send a strong enough signal then you will need to add boosters to keep the signal strength up. Jasco Products Tech Support(Manufacturer)

So,, on several occasions after looking on line for something, and the site saying the product is in store at a good price I drive there and guess what, that product hanger is empty. The funny thing is, NOT only that product is missing but several other hangers in the same area are empty as well. I don't care if home dopot has contracted restocking to another company. There are workers all over the store and some designated to some of the areas specifically to help with certain items. The point being, if I were walking down an isle and an area containing components that fit together were empty I would say something to some one about restocking that section. Take my latest quest to get coax, I find it on line go to the store and it's not there. But what is there is the more expensive coax and the larger package of connectors. Now sure I could have walked out and maybe gone some where else but I doubt that is what home depot wants. I face this problem almost everywhere I shop in my area. So, I will wait and shop the one store out of my area that I know will have the products in stock no question. The home depot in my area has always had this problem, on any given day I can walk through the store down isles of empty product hangers,,,, sad. I know this has nothing to do with this product review but that is because IT WASN'T IN THE STORE............... The rest of the story tells the problem

Almost perfect
The specs on this product was missing the specs on this product ! For instance, the solid center conductor material. I assumed it was copper but only ferrous metal copper coated, so I checked other coax's I had including the one my cable provider recently installed and guess what, all steel copper coated when using a magnet on the center conductor. At least the center conductor measured .035 were as some others I owned measured .025. This cable states it's for indoor use and not within wall installation. Not a problem here. The preinstalled F connectors were fine and included a neoprene "O" ring inside. Assuming it's not to keep water out since the MFG states it's for indoor use so I figure it's to help keep tension on the nut so as not to vibrate loose. Just guessing folks. . . Given the short run of 50', I experienced no signal degradation. At least the signal is as good as it was with the old coax but without all the staple holes I shot it with, LOL.

Needed to replace all cables in my room. So, instead of spending on 3 different cables, got this one that I could cut into percise lengths and make a perfect fit. and still had some cable to spare.
