[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is soooo easy to hook up to your water line but you have to remember that this is just for refrigerators that do NOT have a filtration system in them already. This works great and you can even taste the difference!

Defective quick connections
Just as every other 1 star review, this filter immediately leaks from the quick connect fittings. It leaks from the white collet, right where the blue locking clip is. Ensured it is installed exactly as instructions state and even under low pressure it leaks. What a waste of time and energy, hopefully Home Depot will refund me for this overpriced garbage. Going to get a filter where the brass fittings screw into the filter as I have installed many of those and never had an issue.

This GE Long Life Water Filter is designed for use with refrigerators that don't have a built-in water filter. I installed this filter in series with the water line for my whole house furnace spray mist humidifier. The filter connects directly to your copper or plastic water line to produce filtered clean particle and sediment free water that will not clog and restrict the humidifier nozzle. I originally installed the water filter with my humidifier five years ago and my spray humidifier has been maintenance free. The Quick Connect feature makes first-time installation and subsequent filter changes quick and easy.

A Water Filter cartridge. By General Electric for the water dispenser on your fridge, This one attaches to the back of the fridge where the water supply comes in.
This is great, it last up to 5 years and it comes with the compression fittings for both Plastic or Copper lines. I just installed my Filter Cartridge and it took 15 minutes, very fast install and after letting it flush several times I can see how crystal clear the water is.

Excellent Product - Super easy installation. It was time for me to change my existing 5 year water filter to my fridge. I mounted mine outside near my supply line. Water does not freeze in the winter where I live. If this is an issue then mount it behind the fridge or under the sink etc... Make sure the Red water flow arrow faces in the direction of your fridge. You will need 2 different sized open end wrenches. 1/2 in. and 7/16 in. if you use compression fittings. Box wrenches will not work. Comes with detailed printed directions and 2x brass fittings. No reduction in water pressure noted. I flushed the line for about 5 minutes after installation.
