SAE/Metric Standard and Stubby Combination Ratcheting Wrench Set in EVA Tray (32-Piece)

If you are looking for a set of SAE/Metric ratchet and open ended wrenches, this is it. Although I would like to have some sort of case, this foam base works perfectly well in any drawer. The actions on the ratchet are very smooth and they grab bolts well. The steel seems hefty enough and they include some stubby wrenches, which is probably my favorite part. A good set of wrenches.

I am really liking the GearWrench brand wrenches in this set. Both SAE and Metric sizes to choose from, and stubby versions of selected sizes are included. I rarely find bolts with different sized nuts and almost always you will need 2 wrenches of the same size to tighten or loosen a bolt and nut. This set makes that easy with a regular wrench and a stubby wrench of the same size. The ratcheting box end of the wrench does not have a direction selector lever, so to change directions you have to flip the wrench. These wrenches are straight at the ratcheting box end - the need to flip the wrench eliminates the slight bend that most box end wrenches have near the box end.

I ordered the GEARWRENCH SAE/Metric Standard and Stubby Combination Ratcheting Wrench Set in EVA Tray (32-Piece) to finally get a complete set of ratchet wrenches in my tool box. I have bought smaller 6- and 8-piece sets, both metric and SAE, in the past and it seems I am always missing the size I need the most, or the wrenches are too long for the space I am working in. The other attraction to this set is EVA foam organizer which saves space and time finding the right wrench. The ratchet wrench set came well packed. The size markings on both ends of each wrench are much appreciated, making finding the right wrench quickly while the 5-degree arc and subby wrench option makes working in tight spaces more doable and less frustrating. Another advantage of the stubby sub-sets is that they come in the most used sizes and can be the second wrench when attaching a nut the same size as the bolt head. One feature I wasn’t particularly looking for but absolutely love is the well-designed EVA foam case that fits into my standing tool box and makes keeping the wrenches organized and accessible. It’s much sturdier than I anticipated and it is functional and looks good as well. The clear markings on the tray make it easy to put your hand on the wrench you need. With the different length wrenches, it is easy to find the right slot when putting wrenches away. I am looking forward to using these wrenches for a long time. Well designed, versatile, and stored in a classy tray.

The more that I use this 32-piece Gearwrench combination Metric and SAE size flat ratchet set, the more that I've come to appreciate the manufacturing design and robust build quality of these tools. Additionally, the polished chrome finish easily wipes clean before storage, ready for the next project. The thin design of the open-end side gives greater access to a fastener in tight workspaces while the ratcheting box end, off-corner loading design grips a fastener better to reduce the chance of rounding off the bolt head or nut. Notice also that this pass-through design works on long bolts where a deep socket would just bottom out. The 72-tooth ratcheting head also reduces the amount of swing arc that the tool must move before engaging with the next tooth, again important when working in close quarters. Also, I'm lovin' that foam organizing tray with the high visibility size identification markings for each tool.

I found this wrench set to complete my collection of both standard and metric combination wrenches. I really like that each wrench box end has a geared short through allowing very tight spaces to be no problem. The finish on this set is full mirror polished with great size marking for my tired eyes to see without glasses! This finish allows for a quick clean up after use if they are greasy. I really like the foam case with the cut outs and makings for each wrench size. I found them to fit right in one of my toolbox drawers.

This really is an amazing set of ratcheting wrenches. The foam cut tray that has clearly visible marks indicating size really just sets this set apart from others I have seen. The wrenches themselves seem well built, and have a good variety of sizes in both SAE and Metric which should be enough for most average users. It’s also great that they come in standard and stubby sizes so you should have a wrench that will meet most of your needs regardless of size. This is a fantastic set and I definitely recommend!

I already had some nice sets of ratcheting combination wrenches (including a large set of gear wrench) but there are a few things that set these apart and made them worth getting and making space in my box for. For one I love the inclusion of the stubby wrenches in a set that already covers a good range of sizes. The stubbies and going down to smaller sizes is the one big thing it had over my existing gear wrench set. And it is not just a couple stubbies but 6 in each SAE and Metric in the more commonly uses sizes. That’s a nice addition that my other set lacked. Another standout feature is the tray. It’s great quality and really well thought out and designed. It makes pulling them out easy while arranging them in a way that gives them a smaller footprint taking less space in your toolbox. And as we all know space is always at a premium no matter how much you have. It is also well labeled and finished off with a layer on top that seems like it will be resistant to grease and easy to keep clean. It’s just well made. No joking it’s pretty nice just sitting in the box it came in. You could use that to carry them in and I may hang on to it. I often don’t use the cases wrenches come with but how could I not use this one ? The only remotely negative thing was having to do some toolbox rearranging to make room in a taller drawer for these but it was so worth it. And it’s not often I’m willing to do that. It meant I had to take out some large sets of router bits I used less than wrenches anyway and store them away elsewhere. Then there is the number of wrenches and the size ranges covered. There are enough to cover a wide range of sizes and they go down to smaller sizes than my previous set. It’s always good to have a range of choices. Of course the warranty is as good as any though I’ve never had to put it to the test with the ones I already had. The ratcheting is smooth and the labeling on the wrenches easy to read (important to me as my vision is not great). These are the same quality I was already used to with more selection and this nice tray. For this many wrenches this set is a good deal. I have a set of 7 of one brand that was $99 (granted no small ones in that set and they have swivel heads). But this is 32 for far less than that per wrench. Can’t go wrong with these.

I chose the GEARWRENCH 32 pcs. SAE / Metric Standard and Stubby Combination Ratcheting Wrench Set because it comes with it's own organized drawer insert that will fit in mine and most of the mechanic tool chest drawers I know. I like that the wrenches will stay will stay organized so I don't have to fumble through them to find the size wrench I need. I also like that the set comes will stubbies of the most commonly used sizes. This will be a great addition to my tool chest.

This a great addition to the tool box of any professional or DIY person. It comes with a lifetime warranty and has both SAE and METRIC sizes. The wrenches have an open end as well as box end and the box end is a ratchet which makes getting into tight spaces much easier. I do preventative maintenance and minor repairs on my vehicles and a couple of the relatives, and these have proven to be invaluable.
