GREAT STUFF Window & Door Insulating Foam Sealant is a specially formulated, minimally expanding foam with a low-pressure build that remains soft & flexible after curing. The foam can be formed without trimming to create long-lasting, airtight and water-resistant seal. Proven not to bow window or door frames when properly installed.

Hello DIYer, Great Stuff™ Window and door is intended to be used as an air sealing product, and has not been tested as an insulating foam per code requirements. Like most low density materials, however, it will contribute to the thermal performance of a building assembly, and has an initial r-value of 4.6/in.
Once "opened", punctured can a half a can be used, then the remainder used later?
Hello Michael, Great Stuff™ cans with the Original Dispenser are considered one-time use and will seal shut if left to sit for more than 2 hours after its last use. Inserting a pipe cleaner sprayed with an oil lubricant into the dispenser MAY prolong the life of the product but restart is not guaranteed. Great Stuff™ cans featuring the Smart Dispenser™ may be reused up to 30 days when used as directed. The Smart Dispenser™ should remain attached to the canister. Shake the can for a minimum of 60 seconds and remove any cured foam from the tip prior to dispensing. If foam is cured and does not dispense, do not force material from the cannister. Neither the Original Dispenser nor the Smart Dispenser™ should be removed from the can when stored. Doing so will cure the foam inside the valve, making the can inoperable.

Great Stuff™ Pestblock Insulating Foam Sealant is pale grey and Great Stuff™ Window & Door Insulating Foam Sealant is yellow. Great Stuff™ Fireblock Insulating Foam Sealant is orange. Great Stuff™ Multipurpose Black Insulating Foam Sealant and Great Stuff™ Pond & Stone Insulating Foam Sealant is black. Great Stuff™ products are given different colors to help identify the specific product for its intended use.

Yes, but the Great Stuff™ products form permanent bond and it not easy to remove.

Hello Gale, Although the Great Stuff™ products are not considered a high density product, they are a closed cell foam.
will it hold screws
Hello rrrr, Great Stuff™ products are designed as an insulation and air barrier and not as a structural foam, so we have not tested it to hold screws.
Can this be painted?
Hello Chris, Great Stuff™ products can be painted with any commonly available latex paint. For outdoor applications, coat with any UV-stabilized paint or coating product, such exterior grade acrylic latex paint. If left exposed, the foam may eventually crumble and discolor.
