This company has no phone number for support. Just a heads up for those of you thinking of purchasing one of these... I have installed three mini split heat pumps and one full-size heat pump in the past so I do have experience with this equipment… I have never had any real issue with a heat pump ever. They are pretty straightforward.… but this heat pump when I received it and installed it started out working strangely and going into defrost mode too quickly the first day… I unplugged it to reset it, and then it seemed to work fine for about a week in the heat mode but when I tried to turn the heat down because my house was getting too hot, it wouldn’t turn down. So I turned on the cooling mode to cool the house down briefly, and that would not turn on at all ..the unit would just sit in pause mode… I also noticed the amount of electricity that this unit uses is substantially higher than any mini split pump of its category, which is a 24k…. And, as the days continued, the electricity that it used kept increasing substantially.….. I cannot recommend this heat pump or this company. I should have chosen a company that is more reputable because I’ve never heard of this company before…. But because they don’t have any contact phone number on any of their literature for support ,They are pretty much useless as a company. Returned the unit back to Home Depot and notified them of this company and the issues with their product.

No customer support in the US
No customer support in the US. The WiFi app scanned from QR code in manual loads a Chinese App. WiFi app does not work, and there is no one in the US who can help (been trying for 4 months). This product is not ready for prime time in the USA.

The current Sapphire, Vireo and Livo models come with WiFi already installed - only needs to be connected to end user’s WiFi internet.
There are 3 GREE Apps:
The GreeSmart App works like the remote that comes with the unit. An infrared “in room” remote control works from iPhone and Android if indoor unit is infrared capable.
The Gree+ App is the Universal WiFi App that controls your system from anywhere if your unit is equipped from the factory with the WiFi Module or has had a WiFi kit field installed.

The performance and efficiency on this unit is stunning.
This is one of the most efficient mini split available according to the AHRI directory. The performance and efficiency of it is stunning. I have an electricity monitor connected to it and its crazy how little electricity it uses. In cooling or dry mode and at it's lowest speed with the compressor and all the fans running it only draws around 80-100 watts. In heating mode at it lowest speed it will draw around 180-250 watts. When it was 30 out it was blasting out 108 degree air while only using 250 watts. Amazing. These numbers match up to the electricity consumption numbers in the specification sheet on the Gree website. It is rated a crazy 38 seer.

Split systems have a lot of bad press because of ongoing coolant leaks but here's the secret: use a Yellow Jacket Deluxe flaring tool #60278 with Nylog Blue sealant. This combo makes perfect joints. PLUS, use the GREE-recommended installers as listed on their web site. System works FANTASTIC!

I am an aircraft mechanic / technician with HVAC training. I installed this unit correctly and it worked for one day.
I am an aircraft mechanic / technician with HVAC training. I installed this unit correctly and it worked for one day. Pulled vacuum 30 in in mercury for 1+ hour, and held vacuum for 1+ hour. The next day it stopped working.
The problem is that there is NO customer support. They will not even talk to you. Literally. Call their number at 888-850-7928 to find out for your self. If you are not a HVAC installer, regardless of your qualifications, they will not talk to you.
It looks nice, like a well polished xxxx.
