I use Gutter Stuff on the north side of my home. The is inadequate insulation and heat from the room below would cause melting and ice buildup. I installed one strip of heat tape in the gutter below the foam and one zigzagging from roof to on top of Gutter Stuff. No more ice and no problems with ice in foam in gutter.
To Shopper. Perhaps he used Common Core math.
Yes, the pores will fill up over time with the dirt that comes from the shingles (and other materials), and small seedlings from surrounding trees. However the design is unique and quite good and until the the pores get clogged over time, the water just pours through with no spill over the gutter outer edge. Leaves will land on the gutter guard and then blow away away the next time it gets windy and more dry. However, it is a very inexpensive investment, and I will keep on using it. I noted on my upper roof recently that there were some areas on the porous material that had turned very hard and would not let water pass through. But I bought and installed this in 2011; so 8 years for such an inexpensive product is pretty good!
there is a textured surface that should be on top. this is the mold and insect repellent. the tall side goes in back on the straight edge and the pointy end tucks into the outer lip. be sure to slide them carefully under the hangers and just a small amount of overlap pressure from section to section.
The birds to not like to eat away at the foam. GutterStuff has a UV and germicide coating which deters the animals from eating away at it.
Most likely.
Differences are the length of the factory guarantee, and the price.
Yes, if you do not cover the hole where the water goes down the down spout, then it will get clogged by other debris that comes off the roof e.g leaves, or sticks.
gentle squish down the foam and slide it under the gutter spikes or hangers. pull on one side while compressing and pushing on the other.it helps to have a foot or 2 of gutter foam already inside the gutter.
Yes. I’ve had gutter stuff in place 8 years. It never melted with heat wires.
