A:  Is the failed switch a simple "on/off" switch, with 2 wires going to it? If so, then you need a single pole/single throw (SPST) switch. This switch is a SPST switch, so this switch would be the correct type. If your saw requires less than 20 amps (if it's plugged into a standard 120v outlet, it almost certainly requires less than 20 amps), then this would be the correct switch. If you look closely at the failed switch, it may also have the current/amps rating marked on it. The writing will probably be quite small.

    A:  YES, IT IS RATED FOR A TOTAL OF 20 AMPS AND SHOULD WORK WITH YOUR SAW DEPENDING ON THE TOTAL AMP DRAW.

    A:  You just have to match the amperage and voltage ratings when looking at switches, your motor must not be at or above the 20 amp number. Also confirm it is just one wire in and one wire out, that makes it a Single Poll Single Throw and would be the same as this switch.

    A:  This switch is rated for 20 Amp/125 Volt AC and 10 Amp/277 Volt AC.

      A:  I don't have in front of me at this time but I believe it is rated at 250V. Just note that as voltage goes up you will need to reduce the amperage. I would estimate about 12 amps at this higher voltage.
