Answer This Question

A:  Hi, please know that the LTB-400, while versatile, is not UL listed. I would recommend using HTP-1010. This product is UL listed, is insulating, and unlike heat shrink- it does not require a flame or heat source to install. It bonds with itself to provide a water tight and insulating seal.

A:  Hello and thank you for your question. Yes, you will be able to seal this application to waterproof it. You will need at least 2 coats of the tape, but may need to apply more. Please read the instructions carefully.

        Good impulse
I'll admit, I totally purchased this on impulse. While installing a new low voltage lights in my backyard I realized I needed to splice two wires to reach the new transformer. I decided to give this stuff a shot. I soldered the wires together and gave two quick coats with this stuff. Then shrink tubed over the connection followed by coating (globing) more on. The wire has been buried and exposed to some moisture thus far and so far so good. I do wish it dried a little faster, but I'll be the first to point out I'm fairly impatient.

                  Excellent product
Good as the actual tape but better since there is not end to unwind, it totally sealed the conductor.

I used this to coat outdoor coax cables that had been chewed by a squirrel just to cover them from the incoming rain until I could get new cable delivered. It worked fine, but it is really liquid-y so I had to go back out and do a 2nd layer. I poured it over the cable and caught the drips with paper toweling. Will keep this on hand for this type of thing in the future.
