I have other Gatco products, so it was nice to find this for the shower in the guest bath. Feels very substantial, looks very nice. Can't say how easy it was to install as my contractor did it, but he didn't complain about it. It makes a nice accent to the satin nickel fixtures on the opposite side of the enclosure.

I put several Latitude II grab bars as well as other bathroom fixtures in my bathrooms 3 years ago and have been very pleased. Unfortunately, new ones have changed in two ways. The end caps are thinner with less dimension. I can only guess that it was a cost saving measure. The second difference is more of an issue. The satin nickel finish easily scratches off. This was not the case with the old ones. I returned two of these before accepting that this was the new level of quality. I love the design and had recommended them to several people, but will now stop recommending them.

This grab bar brings style to accessibility -- no more institutional-looking bathrooms just because your disabled loved one needs a grab bar. This bar is sturdy, with clean lines and good looks. The only down side is that the placement of the screws make installation to a stud awkward as the installation plate is larger in diameter than a stud. Really needs blocking behind it. Also a little pricey for what is essentially just a piece of metal. But worth the money!

I installed these grab bars in my updated bathrooms to have just in case of future need. They are sturdy and don't look at all like your typical industrial rounded versions. There's also a line of towel racks and other accessories to match.
