How loud is it

Asked by: John
From a distance, it sounds just like a typical push-type lawn mower. Mine sits in a unattached garage about a hundred feet from the house. We can barely hear it as if just another lawn mower. FYI: the larger ones use more fuel, so consider that when buying. In other words, how many house appliances are actually needed during a temporary power outage?

When not in use, which will be most of the time, should I store it with a full tank of gas or empty?

When not in use, which will be most of the time, should I store it with a full tank of gas or empty?
Asked by: Suron
After use, I always turn off the fuel supply then run my generator until it dies. That way, I know the carburetor bowl is empty. I then disconnect the fuel supply and empty the tank back into the gas can. It's painfully slow, but I don't want stale gas in the tank. I know there are fuel stabilizers but they're only good for about 6 months. When I need my generator, I want to be sure that stale gas and/or gum build-up in the carburetor is not going to prevent me from using it in an emergency!
