You may end up with some imperfections in the flange when its installed, but you should be able to secure the grommet on something of that size.
No, it will not work on rubber properly and the thickness of the mat would most likely be too much for the unit as well.
It is possible that the oils used during manufacturing remained on one of the parts and spread while the unit was packaged up. We do apologize for this. Washing the components with soap and water will remove that oil very quickly.
Yes, this grommet kit should have no issue with a thin shower curtain.
Not sure of the thickness for 10 oz. Army Duck. I use these grommets to put additional holes in flags for mounting on motorcycles. The grommets go through two layers of canvas and the polyester flag material and hold well. The hole cutting tools dull quickly and are hard to sharpen. Instead of the hole tool, I: 1. mark the where the hole goes; 2. cut the fabric in an X; 3. push the bottom half of the grommet through; 4. pound them together. Works well on flags - pictures attached.
Yes, it will, however, it might be easier to line it up better on a wider, flat, rock-solid surface. If you're using gromet pliers, pre-punch the hole completely. Goodluck!
This kit worked for us including the fabric hole cutter. The grommet attaching tool worked perfectly.
I’m very handy but I’ve never installed grommets before. This was really easy and there were no do-overs necessary. All of the grommets set easily and without issue. What i a pleased with is that the tool offers an interchangeable 1/2” and a 3/8” grommet setter. The fasteners are really sound and seem strong. However I used mine on heavy GeoFabric. Am uncertain about Duck Canvas as i've never used it. For the price you really can't go wrong. Perhaps take a cloth sample to the Home Depot and test it first.
Should as long as the male side has enough length to swage onto the female side with the dye. The spread flange is what holds the grommet together. Never really seen any grommet lengths other than this size.
It adjusts to thickness as the die flares out the male through piece. But if you hammer too hard you could crack or cut your panel.
If the panel is a hard material like wood, the grommet will be about 1/16th thicker.
I installed on a 1/16 “ panel and it seems to be just slightly thicker
no mater what you use it for it will not be flush, remember you are putting two parts together and they are crimping together, the grommet fastening kit works very will, I have used it several times with great results. Just do not try to make it flat you will rune the grommet.
Yes you will have enough space to attach. I have never used these on anything but fabric.

About 3/16" on either side of the grommet.
