Do not buy! I would rate this zero stars!
I needed to replace a porch "knock-down" textured ceiling that was disintegrating from years of moisture. I wanted a PVC product that would last where it is 99% humidity 300 days a year. Prior, I had used a Home Depot product from House of Fara for wainscoting another ceiling with most excellent results but that product has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is not available. Home Depot delivered it from the local store and they packaged it carefully and everything arrived without damage. So I saw this product is manufactured in China and that should have clued me in I was going to have quality issues. The bad: * Many of the panels are off-white, some yellowish, others a nice bright white. They do not all color match properly. Not even close! See attached picture. * Many of the panels are wavy on the long ends. Which make them difficult to use whole. These sections had to be cut out. * The ends of the panels are not cut with an interlock like the long edge so the end joints are more noticeable. * Many of the panels were visibly warped (bent), but were able to be installed ok. * Many of the panels were not properly formed - so those defects had to be cut out. This wasted a lot of material. * The product is very pricey given the poor quality. Poor value since all the defects meant a lot of waste. The good: * The panels are substantially thicker than the House of Fara product I used previously, so there is no sagging if you have large rafter spacing. The installer did an excellent job given that I gave him this junk product to install. Now I have to get someone that can paint it so the color is consistent. If paint will stick to PVC?

    Terrible for large area
Ordered 95 pieces online for pickup. I read the previous reviews about the two different shades of white. I figured people were overreacting. Boy was I wrong. I took the pieces to my car. They were so filthy and obviously two different colors. This product might be ok if you only needed like 10-20 pieces and could pick them out yourself. But for big projects they are unusable. I took mine back inside and returned them. About half were very white and half were off-white. See photo.

The PVC boards are very nice and easy to work with. My complaint is that they are not all the same color so they did require painting. Finding paint that adheres to pvc was the hardest part my project. Other than that I’m extremely happy.

      Beadboard for Porch Ceiling
We used this beadboard for the porch ceiling of our Early American home restoration project. While there are better quality/higher priced synthetic bead board available, we chose this product as the quality was the best we found for the price range we wanted to stay within. For installation, we used Liquid nails adhesive on the joists and scarf joints and installed the boards with 2" galvanized nails at an angle with a power nailer on the tongue of each board. TO REMOVE THE STICKER: Saturate the stickers well with at least a 50/50 solution of PineSol & water, letting each sticker soak under saturated rags until soft (3 - 5 minutes). Using a smooth, sharp edged teflon scraper, scrape the paper portion of the sticker off, leaving the glue intact. Once the paper portion of all of the stickers are removed, wipe the area dry. Next, wipe over the glue with a Naptha saturated rag. The Naptha will NOT react with the PVC Beadboard. The glue softens fairly quickly and can then be scraped off with the teflon scraper. Wipe the glue glob onto a rag or paper towel. Wash remaining glue residue off with paper towels & Naptha. **The chemicals to remove the stickers are hard on hands & fingernails, wear rubber gloves. Overall we were pleased with the PVC Beadboards and ease of installation. Removal of the stickers added additional work, cost & frustration to the project that could have been avoided had the mfg used stickers that were more easily removable.

Very tough board, easy to join and attractive finish
At over a half inch thick this PVC Beaded Ceiling/Wall Board is very tough product with each piece easily slotting into the other making for a reliable join. The reversible board has a bead running the eight foot length with the other side being smooth. It can also be painted which I fully intend to do. Using my chop saw I at first just skimmed over the cut in order to avoid any breakages and then cut straight through without any problems at all. When I had 3 or more of same size to cut it was no problem at all cutting all of them together. As the porch does not have a ceiling as such and the width was just a bit longer than the board, I opted to fit a J channel to both sides thus making it much easier by sliding each board into the side channels before securing boards using 1-1/2 inch finish nails in each joist (two per wood joist) pretty sure than one nail would have been sufficient but as I was up there, better safe than sorry. I used a scarf cut to join the added pieces secured at the last joist so you cannot see the join. Each board slotted effortlessly into the next and only slowed me down when I had to cut a little out of the PVC to accommodate the obstacles in the framing. Carefully as I could, I used the nail gun to position the nails in the middle of the tongue thus again avoiding possible breakages and making the nail heads invisible. I was using a 20 year old air gun and it was heavy so I took care to rest my arm after three or four boards were fixed. Fewer mistakes that way…more speed less haste…or is that the other way around? Because of the added side J channels and there is no ceiling I did not have to use any glue at all. As for the stickers on the beaded side (and of course, the side I really wanted to be facing down) they are very hard to remove. I actually gave up after I spent 10 minutes just removing two of them using rubbing alcohol at first and then trying mineral spirits with very little success. Very frustrating that every board has a sticker on it that does not easily peel off. It is fortunate that the good wife told me she wanted them painting and so after trying to remove a couple more I gave up and left the stickers on. Just to make sure I painted over some scrap PVC which included a sticker with PVC adhesive primer paint and after an hour I checked if the paint had covered the pesky sticker. It had and there was no sign of the sticker showing through. On another point, the size of the boards is misleading. The stated length is correct in 8 feet and the thicknesses are also correct but the width is misleading .They are not 6 inches wide. The exact width measurement is 5 inches which included the tongue. Something you should be aware of before ordering the amount you need. Other than the annoying stuck on stickers and the incorrect stated width, both of which I am sure the vendor will correct, these boards are definitely worth buying. Strong, fits securely together, easy to cut and will make any ceiling or walls take on a very pleasing eye with the brand new and long lasting appearance.

        NOT TRUE WHITE
I would say that this was a good value for the price, but because the boards were not all the same shade of white it created more work for us as we had to then paint the room after the beadboard was installed. The boards range from bright white to off-white . If you don’t mind painting a product that shouldn’t need to be painted this is for you.
