Extension rails
It should have came with the opener to begin with but it does work well in my applications with 8ft garage doors.

Screw bent when programming
The pictures speaks for itself. Installed this with a,1.25HP Genie opener for a 8 feet - 2 car garage door. The screw fastening the belt bent when programming the GDO and yes my doors are balanced.

Irresponsible
I think it is irresponsible to have to buy an extension kit after buying the garage door and having it ready to install and then see in the fine print that it is needed for an 8ft door. Then have to wait four days for the kit to arrive because no diy store carries it.

After installing it myself two weeks ago (replaced Craftsman chain drive), it is quietly working the way it should. Reception from remote is good. People can't believe how quiet it is. Instructions were excellent.
I had a 7'-6" high door and needed the additional $40 8' high extension kit. It fit perfectly.

Very quiet operation. Instructions are not bad but could be improved. Help line was very accommodating. Had an issue with pre-existing wires matching the diagrams. Took longer than expected. Needs a middle support on the rail because it is in sections! 5 stars for quietness and 3 for design... overall 4
The garage door is next to and below kids' rooms. They did not know I was home because the door is so quiet

Product did exactly what it was intended to do. Easy to install. Only complaint is that it should be included in the garage door opener or be offered for 7' doors and 8 ft. doors in different package. Should not have to pay extra for the one that fits your door.
