Is keypad installed
I have a legacy Chamberlain DOM July 2006, Model HD400D that is still working fine. Want to add this bundle as a 2nd opener to my garage and wonder if the remotes in this new bundle will function with the older unit.

Will this fit a 8’ tall garage door
Hi Steve- you will need to purchase and 8-foot-high garage door extension kit (EKTC). Genie garage door openers are designed are 7-foot-high garage doors but can be compatible with 8-foot-high doors with extension kit EKTC.
Can you reuse the existing Chain and traveler from a previously installed system
It is not recommended to use the existing chain and traveler. Each garage door opener has its own specific rail system and reusing an existing one can be a safety hazard and prevent your opener from functioning properly.
Will our old rail work with a new motor?
Hi Tracy - it is not recommended to reuse old rails for a newer model garage door opener. While to rails may appear similar, they may not be compatible. Reusing the old rails may lead to potential damage or safety concerns. How do I determine if the existing remotes I have will also work with the new Chain Drive 55 and can this motor assembly work with 4, or more, remotes?
The Genie Chain Drive 550 Model uses Intellicode technology, the same as most modern Genie remotes. That means existing Genie Intellicode remotes (like G1T, G3T, G3BT, GM3T, etc.) and universal Genie remotes can be programmed to work with it. This model is also able to support multiple remotes, limited only by the opener’s memory. Genie Intellicode systems typically can store up to 12 transmitter codes, so you can add 4 or even more remotes/keypads without issue.
