Signature Series 2 HPc Premium Screw Drive Smart Garage Door Opener with Battery Backup, Alexa/Google Assistant Ready

Replaced 45 year old screw drive for this screw drive. Very easy install, had to run wire for sensors...1978 didn't require those. Didn't really care that it had a battery backup...but it worked when power was out.

The screw for the opener is a poor design. It comes in three sections, and you clip them together. On my device, the gap connector for the middle and last section always slips and creates a loud noise when doing so. It is connected properly. The problem with this is that when it falls like that, it keeps moving without slowing down, but the timing is off, so it doesn't come back up to the full height. Every time the door is utilized, the height it returns back is always a little less; I have had to reset the upper limit every two to three days, and the problem continues. I have tried calling support, but it isn't easy to have 2 hours free to wait for the next assistant when I know they will want me at the door when they finally pick up. I have selected the call-back feature, so hopefully, they will call back

This opener has a design flaw because the screw ships in sections which must be joined together and leaves a 1" gap in the threads at the joints. As the garage door opens, the carriage skips at this gap and the garage door slips the width of a thread. The problem is when closing, the control logic thinks the door is higher than it actually is and this causes the opener to auto-reverse when it strikes the ground (it thinks the door struck an obstacle). Get an opener with a solid screw.

I like the idea of a powerful 2HP motor, the really fast door opening and soft door closing features, the Blue tooth technology is great too. BUT IM RETURNING IT BECAUSE IT SOUNDS LIKE A FREIGHT TRAIN BARRELING THROUGH THE WHOLE HOUSE! Home depot customer service assured me it was quiet. They will say ANYTHING.

Screw drive openers are a definite step up over my old chain drive. The screw drive is fast and quieter. Installation is a little tricky if you are not familiar with garage door openers. Definitely requires 2 people to lift and align everything. The rails have arrows and letters, make sure they are in order and pointing the same direction. The screw sections attach with collars and clips. Play around with these to get the shafts lined up because this makes the motion smoother and quieter. Programming is easy if you follow the guide. Operation of my 2 car wood door is smooth and this opener has the power to move it. The battery backup is a great feature, hoping to never use it but know I will.

I put this product the in and worked for about an hour then I waited a week for support fand they send me a couple of parts I put him in and a worked for another hour. They had me send pictures and they said the installation was correct and send me more parts. The problem with this unit is the the motor and the screw are connected by a coupling made of plastic and the coupling wears out very quickly. I bought a belt drive that's working just fine.

While I have a completed a varied and extensive range of DIY projects, I decided to hire a professional to install this product – and I am glad I did. While the installation instructions seemed to be clear to the professional - which might or might not translate to the amateur - the physical requirements were more than I am currently able to perform. While we live in the mountains of Arizona, the day highs are in the low 90’s and working at the peak of the garage can be a challenge. This product has a 2 hp motor which opens the door quickly and effortlessly. The technician completed the task in less than a couple of hours – it would have taken me all day or more, I am sure – and the cost was very reasonable – about $100. The MachForce Connect comes equipped with Intellicode technology that stops anyone else from opening your garage door. The screw drive mechanism works smoothly and quietly and the technician went through all the permutations before he left. I highly recommend this opener as it is currently operating in its “shake down” period.

I am really liking this MachForce Connect 2 HPc Premium Screw Drive Smart Garage Door Opener with Battery Backup by Genie. It has a 2 hp motor which opens the door quickly. The installation was pretty straight forward and the guides were easy to follow. One reviewer said it takes two people to program the remotes. Sorry, that's wrong. I was able to program the opener, two remotes, a wall console and the outside wireless opener in about 15 minutes. Very easy to do. Just follow the guides and you will have it done in no time. You can easily install this in one day. I also like the backup battery. I live in the mountains of Idaho an we get a lot of snow which can lead to he loss of power often. The battery will open and close the door about 50 times. The Aladdin Connect Wi-Fi smartphone technology allows you operate the opener using your cell phone by downloading a free app.The MachForce Connect comes equipped with Intellicode technology that stops anyone else from opening your garage door by changing the access code every time you use it. The Opener comes with 7 feet of rail which is what you need for an eight foot garage door. If you door is higher you can buy an extension kit. The opener is quite compared to the old Genie opener that this unit replaced. I believe it is because the old opener ha a chain rive an this one has the screw drive.

I'm actually more impressed with this opener than I thought I'd be, I had a Genie opener that's over 20 years old that I was used to. It got moved to the second garage door and the new machForce got installed on the most frequently used door. They claim that it's faster. Watch my video (pardon the mess) and you'll see a great comparison of the two. It's not just the speed, the noise level reduction is huge. I had no idea how loud my old one was. The installation was pretty straight forward. The screw shaft joints were unusual but once figured out, they were great. Programming the remotes from my old door was pretty simple once I read through the instructions instead of winging it. My new remotes were easy to program to open my 20 year old opener. The 20 year old remotes wouldn't work for the new one though. I needed to kill the power to wire the second opener. I happened to notice the light on the remote and decided to try it. That back up battery worked perfectly. I hope I don't need it much but it's nice to have it when I do need it. I downloaded the Genie Aladdin app and it works great. (See the photo. Screen shot from my phone) I have to get used to the time delay between pushing the button and the door starting. The light flashes and it beeps loudly to give warning it's about to open or close via the app. However, I get a notification on my phone every time the door opens or closes. I haven't figured out how to disable that yet but I hope I do soon. I did try it from about 5 miles away and it worked great. Of course I got a notification each time too. As petty as this sounds, the light cover is flimsy. Everything about this door opener seems to be pretty good quality. The largest visible part of the opener is the cover over the light bulbs. It really makes the rest of it look cheap in comparison. Overall, I really like it. If it weren't for the cheap light cover, the irritating notification I get every time it opens or closes and the lack of the old remote's ability to open the new one, it'd be a lot closer to a 5 star review

Installation was pretty easy going. Operation of the door is fast, smooth and quiet. Connecting to my wifi took a couple tries, but worked out. I get notifications through the Genie Aladdin app when my door is open or closed.
