Good value for what you get. The opener is very quiet compared to my previous screw drive genie. The mounting accessories for the motor section that were included were inadequate. No matter what type of mount you need to make you will need to buy extra mounting angles. Easy to set limits and get to using once installed. Very lightweight but it easily opened my double metal/insulated sectional garage door. Buy extra nuts and bolts for mounting

So I am a self taught YouTube handyman and decided to install this after watching numerous videos. My garage did not have a previous opener so this project would be from scratch and I've never done one before. The instructions were amazingly clear. There are YT videos from Genie you can watch as well as others who have installed this exact model that makes this an easy install. Just follow the instructions but also keep in mind some tips that I learned from my mistakes. 1. you might need a 2nd person on the part where you attach the opener to door and ceiling. Not really 100% necessary but you can do it by yourself if need be. 2. DO NOT staple the sensor wires or any of the white wire to wall using a staple gun. The force will crimp the wire and render it inoperable. Trust me on this one. Use the small cable clips supplied with kit. 3. Make sure the sensors align with each other or the doors won't close. 4. Make sure you don't need a better reinforcement bracket for your garage door. The kit comes with a mounting bracket but some doors require a special bracket that the kit does NOT come with. You can get one online for less than $20. See picture of the of the one I got and it's 10x better attached now. 5. Get some better angle iron. I got a 5 foot section for $12 at HD. The kit comes with some but it is clearly not enough and very flimsy. See picture of the one mounting angle iron I got along with bolt, nuts and washers I bought. Overall we love it so far for the past week. There is really not anything not to like except that better and more angle iron should be supplied. It is very quiet and it was super easy to install. We opted for the battery back up version because any little gust in our neighborhood sometimes knocks out power. I might add the Aladdin option later on to use with the app but I really don't think that it's necessary since you have the pad on the outside. The remotes came programmed except for the outside pad which took 5 minutes to install and programmed. Trust me, you won't be disappointed with this opener.

Installation took a bit longer than anticipated. I'm very impressed by how quiet this unit is, It makes less noise than when I manually opened the door. Have only been using it for a month (hence the 4 star), But so far I'm Very Pleased with it's performance. For what you get for the price you pay I don't think you'd find a better value...

This door opener is very quiet and easy to install. I did have to go back to Home Depot for an extension kit as my garage door is 8' high and the included parts are for a 7' door; the extension is about $40. Even with the added cost of the extension, this is a pretty good value. It has battery back-up, two remotes plus a keypad and wall mount wired control. It also worked without any modification needed to my existing Aladdin remote app. (Genie, Aladdin - clever, yes?) The only part I found frustrating was trying to adjust the "up" force on the door. My old Genie had simple knobs, turn right to increase, left to decrease. This one has a rather confusing series of button pushes. Trying to read the steps in the manual while standing on a ladder, looking straight up and trying to remember where you were in the button pushing sequence seems needlessly complicated. But - if your door is well balanced and operating smoothly, you won't need to bother with that adjustment. Programming the included remotes, the built in remote in my wife's car and the Genie remote from the old opener was all very straightforward and quick. The wired wall control includes a light switch and a lock button.

Ultra smooth and quiet I wish I had selected a belt drive on my last Genie that lasted 12 years. I can't even here the opener only the door on the tracks. I highly recommend this model. Also I programmed both my vehicles to connect with ease.

Works as expected. A lot of plastic pulleys etc, but you get what you pay for. Supposed to be 1-1/4 hp but it dosn t seem that powerful. Need 2 people to install.

Slow to lift, sounds like the motor is straining to lift the door. It's installed now, so I have to live with it now.

Battery backup required by recent California law. Could prove to be a good addition especially during power grid loss during wild fires and quakes. Ability to use existing wiring from prior opener saves time. Factory programmed remotes is a plus. Wall switch is lighted and very helpful. Opener was very easy to program for up and down travel limits. Wireless keypad is a new feature for us and has several advantages. If you are not in your car or remote battery is dead you can have quick access to your garage without going through the house.
