A very high-quality multi-tool. Size is good - not too large or small. Tools that fold out automatically lock at the end for safety during use. A small button on the handle releases the lock to fold the tool back into handle. Pliers are spring loaded, easy on the hands. The handles of the pliers fold in for easy storage in the included sheath. The sheath has belt loops if you need to carry it on your waist. A great multi-tool to have on hand in your car, fishing tackle box, hiking, camping or kayak gear.

"Boasting 17 curated tools", the "Truss is an all-inclusive multi-tool - Features: (Closed length: 4.35", Open length: 6.5") - Needlenose pliers, Regular pliers, Wire cutter, 2.25" plain edge blade, 2.25" serrated edge blade, Scissors, Saw, Real cross driver, Small, medium, and large flathead drivers, Can opener, Bottle opener, Awl, File, Ruler, Wire stripper and Improved sheath all covered by; Limited lifetime warranty. Now there you have all the details they list for this multi-tool, back in '86' or so I was issued a multi-tool and still use it today. So we have a long history and have had many difference models and brands over the years and we feel this may be one of the best. It butterflies opens for the pliers use and all others can be folded out right out of the sheath and lock open for safety - this feature I like the best. Nothing like have the tool you need on hand always not matter where you are. As far as use, I've made spot repairs to everything from tractor/trailers, right down to the lawn mower - to re-wiring a light switches right down to spot repairs to an appliance. Can't really think of what I have not used one on during my service years. And it does not take a big step for me to say - This multi-tool has everything going for it and I see nothing but year after year, after year of solid trouble free use.

I had an older gerber multitool but gave it to my son who was going away for college and he wanted to bring one with him. so I got this one as a replacement. Not the same model, had fewer tools but was also black This one has 17 tools, but I would say, chances are I would reach for it to use for its plier functions, the knives, the scissor and really important, the bottle opener. the plier features, needle nose, regular jaws of a typical slip joint like plier, flat and cross screwdrivers and wire stripper are nice features. The saw was short but it did work pretty good as it has two rows of teeth which I found nice feature. The plier worked pretty good and made well, so that is a plus for me. It comes with a sheath, that has belt loops for holding it vertical or horizontal on your waist. I was surprise how it fit well in this nylon sheath. And when folded I didn't think the tool would fit but it was nice small size into the sheath. I liked that. Now what also liked was that when using a tool in the handle, it has an auto-lock feature so that it doesn't expectantly fold back when in use. I had others that didn't have this feature and I would have to be careful especially if its the knife, but with the Gerber its auto-locked so I don't have to worry. Seep pic. Made in China (See pic) and has limited Lifetime warranty for USA, but only 25 years outside. See pic. For me, I will keep this in my car with my other emergency stuff (air pump, socket wrench, duct tape, flashlight, etc) cause you never know when you need one of those 17 tools, even if its small. Better than nothing, and the quality of Gerber is well known so no worries. Others may carry it in their fishing tool box, or for camping, hiking trips.

I am a big fan of multi-tools because of the many features they pack into a small package. I keep one in both of my vehicles and in my backpack for work just in case I need them. I was unhappy with an old cheap multi-tool I had in one of my cars and replaced it with this Gerber Truss. I own another smaller Gerber multi-tool, a different name brand expensive multi-tool ($100+), a cheap knock off brand, and now the Truss. I believe that the Truss is the best bang for your buck as an everyday knockaround multi-tool. While this doesn't seem to be as well made as the expensive multi-tool I have, it is still very sturdy and would work great as an in the car or backpack just in case tool. Pros: -Spring Loaded Pliers, easier to use than most multi-tool pliers -Black oxide finish looks really good -All outboard tools are easier to access -17 tools to use, although the ruler is very short -Knives came sharp -Price, for around $50 this is a good deal for the quality and number of tools Cons: -scissors are short and stuby compared to higher priced brands -knife blades are shorter than my higher end tool -strength of metal is not as high as my high end, but is still great for average use (based on my other Gerber tool compared to my high end tool) For the price I think this is a great multi-tool and highly recommend it. Note: home depot's content filter won't let me upload pictures of the blades or scissors.

The Gerber Truss Multi-Tool is very well made, solid and nicely designed. Great that the tools can be locked in the use position. The case fits the tool perfectly and I really like the belt loops for carrying. This tool has a lanyard hole to safely secure while I’m using it. With seventeen different tools I am sure I’ll being using them all. I love that the pliers are spring loaded to the open position. One of the best features of this multi-tool is that I can access the tool pack in the handles without having to unfold the tool.

The Gerber Truss Multi-Tool is very well made, solid and nicely designed! All the tools are easy to access and each can be locked in the use position. The sheath fits the tool perfectly and has belt loops for carrying. This tool also has a lanyard hole for additional ways to carry and to secure safely while using. Seventeen tools in all plus the pliers are spring loaded to the open position so you do not have to keep pulling them open like some other brands need. One of the best feature of this multi-tool is that you can access the tool pack in the handles without having to unfold the tool. Best one I've had yet!!!

The Gerber Truss multi tool is a decent, get what you pay for item. If you do not expect high end quality, fit and finish, and you need a light to medium duty multi tool then this may work for you. As you can see from the attached pictures, the knives on the tool are fairly small- I wouldn’t consider this a substitute for a good pocket knife. The pliers are sturdy and appear strong.
