No, the back is a plain sanded pine color. The front is textured. It is gorgeous wood!

Yes, this product can be stained.
I don't think it needs stain. It already has a rustic old wood look to it.
can this product be painted ?
It's a pre-finished product designed not to be painted but it could be painted. I recommend getting with a paint expert to make sure you use a paint with a primer or to prime first then paint.
It can be painted, but I wouldn't. It's already a nice look.
