If you use film on your skylight, technical team recommends Heat Control Platinum and It should be safe for just about any glass skylight. Please note that our films are NOT for plastic skylights, glass only.

I'm confused: What exactly keeps this film on the window? Is it just "static" or the type of plastic it is--or is it some glue- or goo-type stuff? And, if a goo is used, will it wash off easily? Thank you!

It's just like holiday window clings. Buy the installation kit that comes with the spray and squeegee and it will adhere but remove without residue. We love ours. Keeps the room cooler and dim.

36 in. x 120 in. Gray Glare Control Window Film is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 202.

I tried to install as directed, but ended up cutting to size before installation. I cleaned window with window cleaner than used the solution to hang tint, but it wouldn’t stay on. Clean with soap and water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect for privacy and glare i bought this product for the front doors of the school building i work at. not only does it offer privacy from the outside in, it keeps the glare down and the sun doesn't heat up the lobby. it stays cooler in the warmer months!! The tint film is super easy to use. i did buy the kit that includes a small squeegie and a razor knife and the spray. i do NOT recommend that kit. You are better off using your own NEW razor blade and a squeegie for windows. Also a tip.....if your film is bigger than the window you are applying it to....i suggest cutting it larger than the size needed by maybe 3 inches all around. it will make handling the film easier as it is a bit weighty. once applied to the window....squeegie it in place and then trim with razor. do NOT cut it to size and apply. it leaves no room for error. i highly recommend this product!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gila Window Film: Smoke, Glare Control I've gone through about 12 rolls and here's my opinion: PROS: - cheap - fairly easy to install (after the first few windows) - reduces glare considerably CONS: - 36" width is the only size Gila offers with this product. I have a few 42" windows and a Gila Rep told me to piece two strips together, then apply clear nail polish to the crease. - After you apply this product, there's a distorted, somewhat "blurry" view from inside your home looking out - Gila does not define the life expectancy of this product either on their website nor the product packaging Overall, you get what you pay for. This is a cheap product so you can't expect everything to be just perfect. Save your money on the applicator solution, liquid detergent and water work just as well and doesn't evaporate as quickly. Rubbing alcohol works fine for final prep of the window.

What I didn't know was the film would get really hot on the window, causing the window to expand a little making it impossible to open or close once it's hot. I'm not using it now.

It has cut the glare and heat from the sun coming in our sunroom. Our view isn’t quite as clear but it’s worth it to be able to enjoy our sunroom. I recommend this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So easy No Kit is Needed I have a large 8 foot arched window and i needed a ladder to apply this film. I first cut a pattern by using paper that I could trace the arch with and cut it and trim it to fit. When I knew the pattern was perfect i cut the film. I used soap and water to spray the window and applied the film. I plant to remove this when the suns pattern changes no longer hits these windows. The low west setting sun is very bad in this room and hits my computer and the side of my eyes. I like the ability to remove this anytime I want. If you use the Kit with their solution you better plan on buying the removal spray also. Don't go there, it is not necessary.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good film but don't buy installation kit We bought 3 rolls of this film and an installation kit. The tool to cut the film was too small in size and dulled out after just one window application. The film cutter tore the film and we had to buy another roll of film. Doing the window corners with the cutting tool was so difficult and time consuming it wasn't worth the effort. After doing a few windows and spending over $125 we hired a professional to install the film. Frankly we got a better deal on energy saving film. Gila window film is too wide for the average window requiring the cutting tool which is shoddy. It just deceptive to sell good window film with a bad cutter to install it. The cutter was hard to hold onto because it was way to small. It slipped and tore the film. There was no warning the cutter was getting dull and no way to replace the blade.
