Hello Mimi, all Gila window film products are designed to be installed by DIY nonprofessionals.
Hello Sarah, with this film being an adhesive film there will be some adhesive leftover after the removal of the film. We recommend saturating that adhesive with an ammonia based cleaner and allowing an hour or two for the adhesive to absorb the solution. The adhesive then will come off much easier. We strongly advise working in a well-ventilated area if you are working with ammonia based products.
Hello, you would use a splicing technique with this product where you use the factory edge to create the center line of your product going down the middle of the window. Then you would meet this edge with the other factory edge to create the closest thing to a seamless appearance.
Hello Gracie, Although this approach will help work the film into place you will likely have a hazy residue left behind after the soapy water dries. We recommend our tool kit or application solution bottle because the solution is designed to dry clearly and not leave mineral or soap haze behind.
Hello Diana, our products are testing between 300-380nm so it blocking parts of of both UVA and UVB. The film likely continues to block UV outside of this range to some extent but our data tests this specific range. Our Heat Control Light film blocks up to 99% of UV light in this range.
Hi Linda, this film can certainly be removed from your window's glass at any time but this film has an adhesive backing on it. Once the film is removed it cannot be re used.
Hello Lisa and thank you for reaching out! The Gila Application Solution is not included with the film.
The most compatible films for sensitive indoor plants are the Gila Heat Control Films, such as this product. These films transmit higher portions of visible light spectrum that plants need for healthy photosynthesis. Darker films such as the Gila Heat Control Black, block too much of that light. Help your plants acclimate to the change in light by adjusting them over a five-day period. On day one, move the plants 1 foot further into the room. On day two, move them another foot. On day three, apply the film. On day four, move the plants a foot closer to the windows. On day five, move them another foot closer.
