Is it possible to put two layers of this film on a window to get a darker tint?
    ByJan 15, 2026
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

Hello Danny, although this will make your tint darker it could also lead to damaged seals or cracked glass. The reason for this is that this film is formulated to stay below a certain level of heat absorption. The darker the film, the more heat that is absorbed. Layering films also creates issues with the adhesive and can lead to films delaminating or separating from the glass which damages the product. For this reason, layering films voids our warranty.

        Answer This Question

Hello, this product ships inside a corrugate box and is mounted on two end caps that keep the film from touching the sides of the box. This is common in the commercial side of the industry.

Does this protect help prevent condensation? can it keep the inside of the window the same temperature as the outside of the window. especially in winter…?
            ByNov 11, 2025
            1 Answer |
            Answer This Question

Hello, this film will not offer any benefits as far as deterring condensation goes. Although this film rejects solar heat which will help increase your exterior window temperature during the day it will not likely keep both panes the same temperature.

                  Comes with deep scratches
The window film comes with a lot of deep scratches prior to installation. Very noticeable. But wife says there is already some heat reduction. But overall quality is pretty bad.

                      Horrible! Pain to apply
Why would they sell the roll rolled up the opposite way that it's supposed to go on the window?! I keep trying to apply it and no matter how much solution I use it keep rolling the opposite way which is the way that it came rolled in the box. It makes absolutely zero sense why they would do that! This is so insanely frustrating and it looks hideous. I'm about to throw the whole thing away. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!

Instructions are in the middle of the roll!
I put these on a storefronts south facing window to help with heat control in the lobby. It has made a noticeable difference, dropping the temperature by about 15 degrees. The installation was not easy and and finding detailed instructions halfway through was aggravating. Maybe this would have been easier on smaller windows. As you unpeel the back (getting the film off was a pain on its own), it wants to roll back onto itself and stick to itself. Having a second person there to help me would have made a big difference. What worked for me was unpeeling the top 6 inches and sticking that to the window, then doing the rest. My first window was the worst, by I had a process figured out by window 3. The material feels strong and the different width and length options are a plus. I plan on buying a roll for myself to put on some windows at home

Keeps the heat out and also adds privacy!
I bought this last year for my south facing house for the computer room. It cooled it down 20 degrees from the hot sun and it has held up great. Do your research before using this and maybe have a second person to help on the first couple windows till you have the hang of it. Yes it can be very frustrating to handle the first time or so but let’s all be honest, it’s not going to be pretty the first time or two maybe even three but we’re all DIYing this cause paying a professional is too expensive. Also if you don’t like your first few lays, you might have to buy extra to redue them, still cheaper than a professional who’s going to charge to at least $200 a window. Definitely going to try and stack the layers to get maybe a bit darker but that’s going to wait till the rest of the house is done.

                            Don't waste your money
Tried this on one window to start, and it was a real pain. The product has a tendency to bend, crinkle, pick up the tiniest of dust particles, all of which look terrible on a window. I ended up removing it and it's destined for the dump. Don't waste your money on this terrible quality product. I wouldn't trust anything from the company behind it either.

                              Great for window glare
I started working from home and my desk is in front of a window. I started having problems with my eyes and realized it was the glare. This stuff is GREAT, and I immediately saw the difference in glare. Applying it was fairly easy (use a LOT of water) and months later it hasn't moved or peeled.

Bigger the window the harder to install
I bought this today to install on sliding doors to cut the heat into my dining room in the summer. It is difficult to handle large pieces of the product. It also is extremely static clinging. I have a cat and I cleaned the entire room and spent a lot of time cleaning the glass as instructed, but still have some small hairs and other things behind the film. Once it’s there, it’s is pretty much impossible to remove. You just make things worse, I tried in a couple of spots. It does appear to block a lot of the sunlight, so I guess I’ll see once we have a really hot and sunny day. I’m 65 and the guy in the install video looks to be about 55 and he makes it look easy. Also he was doing smaller windows, double hung.

                                  Watch YouTube videos first!
Use two people. Scrape your entire window with a blade because you will not see the tiny specs that have collected over the years and the imperfections will show after you put the tint up. Watch multiple videos on how to install window tint. You will want to see everyone’s techniques before you start. And most importantly, choose your first window that people won’t see if you make any small mistakes. Because you will, and then you will learn for the next window. Use Gila kit spray and blade.
