4 oz. Cedar Oil

A:  Brian, Cedar Oil can be applied to any wood. It will provide a pleasant scent and protect items in the cabinet from insect damage. However, it will not provide a hard, glossy finish like a varnish or lacquer. Whether it is appropriate to use or not depends on what you are looking to accomplish with it.

A:  If you have a paneling that is made with a paper overlay, or is printed onto hardboard or MDF, you cannot use the oil. If you have paneling that is made of real wood, or wood veneer that has not been finished, you can apply the oil. Be aware that it may not have the strong scent of cedar, but it will still have the natural compounds that repel mildew and insects.

A:  1. It's not designed for external use so my answer would be no. 2. Not really, as it is meant to be used on new, clean, dry wood. Mildew is a sign of dampness already present.

A:  Scent don't last, and it attracts pest/bugs.. instead of repelling them!!

A:  1. I shouldn't think so. It's a wood coating to preserve the timber, not an outdoor bird or Deer repellant! 2, Mildew is a sign of dampness. Cure or stop the dampness, dry the wood & the Mildew will cease to be a problem. Cedar-oil can only be applied to bone-dry wood.

A:  No. You're asking about a product for coating wood, not seeking an estimate for building matetials for a porch-build! If you need an estimate, seek a builder or three and ask for a quote for the job.

A little cedar oil goes a long way. You may dilute it with denatured alcohol or pure mineral oil (put in a spray bottle) and apply it that way. There is not set ratio, it's whatever you prefer.
