A: It is not necessary to sand the wood before using the oil. However, it will help open up and refresh the wood. Just a light sanding with 180-220 grit sandpaper is all that is needed.
A: my sister in law told me that this does repel bugs and termites. she uses it. I have not had a chance to use it yet, but put the cedar oil and some water in a spray bottle and spray where you need it. she said the amounts of cedar oil and water to use are on the container. I haven't looked yet.
