Questions & Answers

what does dual flush mean?

Asked by: Barb
There are two buttons to flush. One for a lighter flush and one for a more fuller flush.

Loose tank

I installed two of these recently. It seems the tank moves from the front to the back a lot. Is this normal? I'm not sure why it's this loose.
Asked by: Joe
I usually make my own rubber pieces to help seat the tank on the bowl, by cutting (from scrap hose) 2 pieces of 1 1/4 inch long by 1/2 inch id rubber, or vinyl hose pieces in half, the long way. This makes 4 small pieces of half hose that help absorb shocks if the tank gets bumped, and also eliminates the direct hard surface contact between tank, and bowl. When choosing hose, try to use hose with some cord reinforcement, such as air hose, or reinforced type garden hose, so it does not split, and fall out, over time. Another thing, is do not over tighten the tank bolts, as this will possibly break your toilet. With that in mind, snug the bolts / nuts enough that the tank is just secure on the bowl. I like to use a deep well socket (7/16), on a nut driver handle. It is also a very good idea to re-check tightness of the tank to bowl bolts / nuts a few days after the install, because the parts will seat, and lose the original tightness. Again, when re-tightening, do not over do it. This same procedure of re-checking for tightness also applies to the floor bolts securing the toilet. Failing to maintain a snug fit, will likely result in the toilet moving around on the was seal, allowing a leak. If you run into leak issues at the floor, consider one of the was free seals now on the market. Good luck, and best regards, DIYGuy

I need a contractor for the install

Asked by: FairyGodmother
That would depend on your strength to lift and your diy skill level. Very easy install but toilet is heavy. Be careful not to damage wax ring during install. Best to purchase the wax free ring, it made install a breeze.

Leaking between tank and toilet. It’s brand new, never had a toilet leak like this one before.

I installed the toilet and everything seemed to be working great and like 15 minutes later I have water all over my floor. It appears to be leaking from under the tank and both bolts are tight but water still seems to be coming out pretty quick. It’s brand new, why is it leaking so bad?
Asked by: Joe
We have had the same model for over a year now and haven't had any problems so far.
