Just cut the part lose and clean...then replace.
Normally you need plumbers putty to install a sink drain, but this one comes with a gasket that seals well, at least for me, without putty.
No in my opinion
When I installed the drain, I made sure it fit in the drain hole in the sink evenly. When I tightened the nut under the sink on the drain, I made sure it was straight, even and tightened the nut to keep the drain secure. The drain exits all the water, except maybe a little at the drain to sink joint, but it is very little, few drops.
Mine worked right out of the box. Either something is stuck in your drain, or the drain is defective.
Hi! I use the heel of my hand very firmly and haven't had any problems. I have three of these. Good luck!
Hi Badger Thanks for detailed reply. can anyone show me the link to this same drain for a sink with an overflow? Thanks
Old one was not glacier bay. I wasn’t able to purchase stopper only. Had to replace Glacier Bay.
