Questions & Answers

Can the faucet be mounted with the water lever on the left? All of the pictures show it in the right.

Asked by: DIYhelper
I'm pretty sure you can have the lever on the left side. I almost installed the unit with the lever facing to the front, and that would have installed correctly, but the wife wanted it to the right. The faucet doesn't have stops, so you should be able to mount the lever in any position you prefer.

Asked by: sparky
The main body of the faucet is metal, but the pull-out head is cheap plastic. The Glacier Bay representative should have made this clear in their answer but didn't.

What holds the pull-down sprayer up?

What holds the pull-down sprayer up?
Asked by: Sojo
There should be a weight on the sprayer hose under the counter. The weight will tend to pull the sprayer back up into the faucet pipe. Cheers!

The pull-out nozzle is plastic, and unlikely to last as long as the rest of the unit. Installation should be easy, but the FastMount system is a dismal failure. During the installation of two units side-by-side in twin sinks, one FastMount unit was able to pull the unit snug, but not tight, so the unit moved in ways it never should have. The second FastMount unit failed completely. If you are going to install this or any other Glacier Bay unit that is shipped with the FastMount, plan ahead and get the pull-down mount before you even start. This is an item that should come with the unit or be stocked by Home Depot, but neither of these conditions are true. The FastMount design should be scrapped and totally redesigned. Meanwhile, the pull-down mount is very easy to install requiring only a Phillips Head screwdriver. My basin wrenches never came out of the tool box. It is extremely easy to use, so the FastMount is a solution without a real problem to address. As a note, if you mount the unit with the handle facing forward, you will want to reverse the Hot and Cold feed lines (connect Hot to the cold feed and vice versa). Additionally, I noticed many reviewers commenting on low flow. I did not have this issue, and would like to point out that the installation instruction call for removing the sprayer head and flushing the unit before the first use. When I did this I was surprised at how much dirt flushed out. If you skip this step I suspect the inner screens will be badly blocked immediately, and result in very poor flow.

In my years of being a DIY repair man, this is by far the easiest faucet I've ever replaced. The only tool you will need is a 1/2" wrench to tighten the included 32" braided water supply lines to your feed lines. They have a plastic quick mounting unit that secures the faucet to the sink. You just feed the included water supply lines through this device, and you push the device up over the threaded portion of the faucet, and just hand tighten it. It is shaped like a handle, so you can easily grab the device, with one hand, and get a nice tight connection to hold the faucet in place. No need for any tools in an area that doesn't have much room for any tools. The soap dispenser has the standard, no tool required, plastic wing nut to secure the base. The pull down spray works very well, and has two different spray patterns. It also has a swivel base that helps to aim the spray where you need it. The pull down spray head also securely goes right back into place when done, just make sure you route the hose so it doesn't catch on anything in the cabinet when pulled out. The soap dispenser also works very well. I would highly recommend this faucet.

I was replacing a Moen pull out that had leaked and needed cartridges replaced. With Moens lifetime guarantee,I Called and they sent me the parts. Problem was they 1/had a back up on mailing parts for 15 business days (unacceptable when one doesn't have water in the kitchen sink or dishwasher and 2/when they did mail, they sent the wrong parts. So, I Went to Home Depot to buy a replacement sink. I was looking to replace my chrome pull out (traditional style to match my old Spanish) but most everything was pull DOWN (not out), and stainless, not chrome (and would not match my appliances or hardware). This sink was one of the few options in the store. Although the price was right,I guess you get what you pay for. My husband commented that parts were plastic and the hoses were light and flimsy. The pull out spout does not automatically go back to the off position, and has to be guided and placed into it. The chrome is light and seems like very little metal, if any. The box said nothing about the clearance needed under the sink, for the weighted hose to operate smoothly; it SHOULD. I am still getting used to it, but don't think that the pull out hose is long enough. I have never owned a glacier bay product, although I did read the on line reviews in the store. I got an inexpensive faucet since it seems like even the more expensive ones break every few years, and was swayed by the lifetime guarantee. I hope I won't have to use it soon.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from JUNK Spent hours after changing out our other faucet trying to figure out why we had very slow water flow... only to figure out the valve in the faucet was either faulty or just a piece of crap. Angry because I almost called a plumber for a very simple faucet repair and here it is a VERY poor design faucet and NOT cheap!!

Only con: sprayer does not easily return to the base clip after being retracted. Plastic clip has to be carefully pushed back into place. Will monitor to see if it breaks.
