Q:Can rubbermaid fast trac hooks work with this panel
    by|Dec 30, 2020

    Answer This Question

A:  Honestly, I don't know if Rubbermaid is/isn't interchangable with Gladiator. My gut guess says probably not. The propiortership of each company is geared so that a customer must buy the system and parts/accessories of that company. You can always buy the Rubbermaid accessory and see if it will/won't work with Gladiator and return it (with receipt) if it doesn't. I bought the Gladiator system and parts/accessories. It was easy to install and kept my garage organized. It was a strong selling point in the garage when I sold my home. I will buy Gladiator's system and parts/accessories again!!

Q:I'm wondering what the length of the hooks are? How far do they stick out?

A:  Tool Garage Hook for GearTrack or GearWall Model # GAWEXXTHSH Internet #204284995 – Has 4 prongs /25 pound load rating. Upper prongs 9 ½ inches long and lower prongs 3 inches long. Upper prongs have foam protection while lower prongs are in plastic. There is a similar hook that has 2 prongs and it's Twin Garage Hook for GearTrack or GearWall Model # GAWEXXTWSH /Internet #204284976 – Has 2 prongs /25 pound load rating. Prongs about 9-9 ½ inches long. Prongs are in plastic. Both types of hooks are good for holding things like rolled up hoses, extension cords, Christmas lights, beach chairs, and various yard tools from shovels and rakes to weed whacker, blower, etc. If you put the head of the shovel or rake on the prongs and handle end of shovel/rake hanging down helps to keep your yard tools from hitting and marking up the walls. PERSONAL NOTE: I really like having the Gladiator slat panel wall system!! It makes my garage look very organized and I'm not marking up or putting holes in the drywall while taking things on/off the hooks. Besides having everything right there in view to see what I want and reach it this system also gives me the option to easily rearrange my things if/when needed by simply relocating the hooks on the slat wall planks and there's no damage to my drywall...unlike the individual hooks that you hang on the wall and need to patch 'n paint screw holes when relocating. For things like my garden supports (i.e. for tomatoes, etc.) I used the individual Gladiator slats 6 inches high with hooks because those are more seasonal and not the constant use as say a shovel. Eventually though I'd like to upgrade that section of my garage to more of the Gladiator slat wall panel system. I put a Gladiator metal shelf towards the bottom of my slat wall to be a work space and hold things like my organic pest control plus it allowed me to store my Aerocart underneath keeping it out of the way when not in use. The shelf I put at the top of the slat wall was good for storing luggage, however; next time I would not put that particular shelf that high up because even though it fit it was basically aligned with the garage door track making for a wee-bit of a challenge reaching and not hitting my head on the track. I bought the 48 in. W Garage Wall Storage GearWall Panel (2-Pack), but it also comes in 96 in. The 48 inch Model # GAWP042PBY Internet #204648992 and the 96 inch Model # GAWP082PBY Internet #204648561. The panels are 12 inches high by the 48 or 96 inches wide and there are 2 panels per package (i.e. each package installed 24 inches high by 48 or 96 inches wide). I made my Gladiator slat wall panel 4 feet wide by 8 feet high. Installing this garage organizer system is as easy as 1-2-3!! Find your studs and run a chalk line down the wall for each stud within your Gladiator slat wall panel area. Find where you want the bottom edge of the bottom panel to be and run a chalk line to get your level. These two steps will make it faster and easier to install each panel and keep the screws lined up as well as screwing into studs vs guessing and busting out drywall. Then install the panels starting with the bottom panel. Once it’s in place the rest simply set one on top of the other as you screw them in place. TIP: When installing the slat wall panels remember towards the outside edges (left and right edges) you’ll want to leave about 1/8” gap between the back side of the panels to the drywall. The screws in the center of the panels can be tightened as you normally would do, but don’t tighten the screws towards the ends of the panels. It’s at the outside end of the panel where you need the gap so you can slide the trim pieces in place and once they’re in place then you can tighten the all of the screws. The trim puts a finishing touch on your project, but you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to. If you're tackling this project on your own the most difficult thing is to get the first panel attached to the wall, but if you put your chalk line up to mark level and then get creative to prop and hold that bottom panel against the wall until you can get a screw at each end from there on it couldn't get any easier to finish the task at hand!!

A:  You might want to consider this Gladiator accessory for your frames. Twin Garage Hook for GearTrack or GearWall Model # GAWEXXTWSH /Internet #204284976 – Has 2 prongs and prongs are in plastic. Prongs about 9-9 ½ inches long.

A:  I think these hooks are just what you need. I find these hooks to be the most versatile of all. Assume you already have the track on the wall. They cannot be attached to the wall without the track.

A:  The Gladiator system together with the above hooks should fit your needs nicely. Just separate the hooks so that each frame will have two hooks, this should stabilize your work. Good luck.

A:  If just hanging frames, have you considered Model # 2812, Internet #100194576 Store SKU #435592 and Model # 2855 Internet ##100134099 Store SKU #437145? I think you would have more versatility than with the Gladiator hook and track system. Best wishes.

                              Extremely Useful!
The tool hook is nice because it’s basically 4 hooks in one. This hook is seriously strong and can hold a substantial amount of weight. The longer hooks are nice because you can use that in so many ways, be it holding bulky items (like extension cords or hoses), multiples of the same item (like a hammer) or keeping longer items away from the wall (like a shovel). The smaller hooks are great hanging other things like knee pads, tool belts, etc…

Versatile well built hook – 25 lbs. limit
The Tool Hook is a deep, flat hook with turned up edges and small mini hooks underneath (3.25" wide x 4.5" high x 10.5" deep) for the Gladiator GearTrack and GearWall system. In my case it was mounted to the GearTrack. This hook is engineered nicely and has excellent build quality. The hook metal diameter is thick enough to support 25 lbs. and has a nice padded covering to provide protection to your tools and a slip resistant surface. The hook is a good match for multiple lightweight single handled tools (I have multiple tree trimmers and a floor scrapping tool on mine). The hook installs in three very easy steps and once installed remains in place with no lateral or vertical movement. The hook can easily be removed for repositioning or replacement by another hook type. The hook comes with a limited lifetime warranty in the United States. Overall I am very pleased with and recommend the GearTrack system.

The Hooks I received were actually better then the old ones that were in place,We purchased a house that had the Gladiator track in the garage, but only a few hooks were left behind the new ones fit better and seems to hold more then the old style.
