You may choose to skip the step that calls for the bottom clip to be drilled into the tub and proceed with applying silicone as instructed. Hello and thank you for your inquiry. The fixed panel will need to be siliconed where it meets the base and tile. This not only keeps water from leaking but is imperative to the security and stability of the enclosure. This model will include two sweeps, one for the bottom of the door panel and another for between the two panels. These are to help fill these gaps and avoid water from leaking through. Thank you!
