What casue the pot create a loud presure noise like going to explode? Does it still safe to keep ...

Asked by Tony September 23, 2020

Answer

I believe your vent valve is missing which result in excess steam releasing from the pot. Otherwise, stop using it and seek manufacture assistancy.

How qt. Jars can you can

Asked by Lee July 2, 2020

It can fit 4 quart-size jars. However the instructions tell you to use 16 oz jars. I would go by the instructions. Just because the quart size fit, doesn’t mean it will can them properly. I have not canned in mine yet.

I notice there is a canning button on this. How may jars will it hold to can?

With the liner in, 5 quart jars will fit.

It can fit 7 one-pint mason jars tightly. And it can fit 5 one-quart mason jars. I don't have any half-pints.

How many quart jars will the 12.5 GoWise Electric Pressure Canner hold in the canning process?

I know that the description says "canning" but note that the max. temp. reached is only 238 deg. That would indicate that the unit does not reach the full 15 psi (250 deg) to destroy botulinum spores for "safe" canning of certain foods.

I do not believe it does. It has a sauté feature but I’m reading the front of mine now and I see nothing about browning or searing.

This electric pressure cooker is easy to use. It is very large so recommend it for commercial use instead of for family use. Most recipes you find for pressure cookers work very well for 6-8 qt size. I did make the best pot of beans I have ever made and started with dried unsoaked beans. Only took about two hours start to finish. It made enough to freeze several meals. I cooked a whole chicken and though it was very moist, I prefer a roasted chicken in the oven. I tried a couple of other things in it that I was not happy with and I believe it is because the pot was too big for what I was cooking. You can saute, brown and cook all in the same pot. You can slow cook, steam and can in this pressure cooker. I have not tried any of those features out yet. It is very well made and easy to clean.

This electric pressure cooker does it all. Its solid , well built and the copper finish looks great. And one of the most versatile cooking devices ever. It has 12 preset cooking modes, plus time delay, saute, slow cook and manual. Even when you choose one of the preset modes, you can alter the time and pressure. The large easy to read display and control panel makes it truly one touch cooking. The display will show the unit pressuring up and then the display shows how much time is left before your food is done. It also beeps to let you know its done. There is an easy to press pressure release button and then an easy turn of the top reveals your perfectly cooked food. I have already cooked rice, hard boiled eggs, corned beef and cabbage, and pulled pork ..All in one pot, in amazing time with great results. Fluffy tender rice, Juicy tender corned beef with perfectly cooked potatoes and cabbage, and mouth watering super tender pulled pork. And clean up is so easy with removable pressure top and inner pot..The exterior is also easy to clean..This exceeds all my expectations for a pressure cooker., and will be well used for many years to come.

This is my first pressure cooker and it’s incredible. I chose to get it after hearing how great pressure cookers can be. My first try using it and it’s a HUGE success. There are recipes included and the “Honey Glazed Chicken” is one of them and everyone LOVED. The instructions that come with it are GREAT!! The capacity is 12.5 quart. It can also be used as a slow cooker !! This product is HIGHLY recommended. The speed in which it cooks is incredible. I can’t wait to use it again. Don’t hesitate to get this. The digital control and automatic timer settings make it a breeze to use.

The GoWiseUSA pressure cooker is a convenient tool for any kitchen. My wife used it to cook a pork roast the first time she used it. It took only forty minutes to cook compared to four hours for a conveniental oven. The roast came out tender and moist so the electrical use would be much less for the pressure cooker compared to a oven. I highly recommend this product.

From past experience with pressure cooker, you can't fill the pot to the top. You always need to leave room at the top for steam pressure to build up. This is why I go for the largest available size. This one is massive and it does occupy a lot of counter space. I like the steamer accessories that come with the cooker. I am trying to loose weight and steam cooked food should be less fattening. Unlike conventional pressure cooker, the cooking is controlled electronically. Once the setting is selected, you are free to work on something else.

I have another brand in a 6 quart and wanted a larger one as I like to cook, put in zip lock freezer bags and reheat at a later time. I cooked chicken spaghetti using frozen chicken thighs, added carrots, dried spaghetti and spices and then covered with chicken broth. Set it for 16 minutes. Took a while to come to pressure and I was beginning to wonder about it but pot being so large I am sure time was normal. After 16 minutes I released pressure and chicken was cooked, spaghetti was done perfectly. Very good quick meal. I tend to use the manual with time I set myself rather then using the preset settings. It is a beautiful unit, well made and came with spoon, rice cup, trivet and a very nice set of stacking steamer baskets. I gave it a four because of the vent release button instead of vent that turns and additional inner pots are pricey and seals and such are only available on GoWise site only. I can use most of my accessories from my 6 quart so I am good. Large enough I can also use metal household pans in it too.

The lid broke just out of warranty
So I bought this big beautiful machine that has been working so wonderful and all of a sudden the top is allowing steam to escape. After working out the problem with the company the problem is the lid. I'm one month out of warranty and out of luck.

I bought this because it is large enough to fit 4 quart size canning jars. I have not tried canning in it yet. I thought it would be way too large a pot for cooking regular food, since I already had an 8 quart pressure cooker that is very big. But I have found this 12.5 quart size to be perfect for baby back ribs and making stock.

Great value! It works great, and I really like the large size. I used it to make beef bone broth.
