Yes it does but if they say to cook at 400 degrees for 10 minutes then turn over and cook for another 5 minutes. The machine will stop after 10 minutes and after you turn your meat you have to reprogram your temperature and time again. Easy to do but but it has to get done

Cook frozen onion rings at 400 degrees for 8 minutes, turning over halfway through cooking.

                      (1)

The recipe book that came with the air fryer does not include anything for onion rings, unfortunately, but if you batter them first with whatever coating you normally use as you would with an oil fryer, you could experiment with how long it might take to cook them in this air fryer. As an example, we cook our french fries a bit longer (20 minutes) and hotter (400 degrees) than the recipe book calls for, and they turn out great.

I use a light spray with canola oil on home made fries, or if the frozen fries don't have oil in their ingredient list. Just a little works if you want crispy fries...........

We coat our french fries lightly in oil before cooking but other recipes for other foods included in the recipe book may not need oil. It really depends upon the food item.

Oil is not necessary in the air fryer, but I do toss fresh French fries in a Tbs of oil before cooking. I also use a buttery spray on some foods because I like the taste and it prevents some drying on some foods. I did this 3" London Broil in the fryer with some spray and spices.

Worked well for 10 days - then the melting plastic warped the pan! This air fryer is a little larger than the one I currently use and I was excited to get one with a digital control display screen instead of the manual dials. It is very simple to use and comes with instructions and a recipe book. It has 7 pre-programmed menus which can be adjusted or you can set the time and temperature to whatever you like (up to 400 degrees and up to 30 minutes). The non-stick pan and insert are easy to clean. I use an air fryer frequently, so having a second one was going to be so convenient because I could use both at the same time. However, I am disappointed in this GoWise fryer. I have had it only 10 days, and the plastic is melting and warping. When I first used the fryer, I thought that the fumes were because it was new and that it would go away. The burning-plastic odor did not go away, and the more I used it, the more the base pan warped so that it will now not close tightly at all. There is heat damage all around the outer edge of the pan. Perhaps I received a defective fryer since the other reviewers have not had this problem, or perhaps it is not meant to be used often.

It you want a healthier way to eat what is traditionally greasy food, this is your product. This kitchen gadget uses air circulation and heat to "fry" food. It can cook foods from 175-400 degrees and has a cooking timer that will work for most foods at 30 minutes or less. Chicken only takes a little over 20 minutes. There are 7 preset functions in the console - chicken, steak, fish, meat, shrimp, chips and cake. Yes, cake! Who knew! For my first dish, I went with something easy - Tator Tots! Oh man, were they good. Unlike baking them in the oven, they were not squishy or moist. Instead they were piping hot crunchy nuggets of creamy potato. They really did taste like they came out of a deep fat fryer. And to think, all I did was spray maybe two seconds worth of Pam on them. Most recipes don't even need that. This oil-less fryer holds about 3.7 quarts or food. But to get the air flow circulating and for it work, you will work with less than that. The photos on the box show a full basket of fries, but like a freezer, you need the air to circulate for it to work properly (not just stuffed to the brim). Everyone loves french fries. With this machine, it takes 20 minutes and 2 teaspoons of cooking oil to fry up 2 medium potatoes into perfection! It also makes a great grilled cheese. In 5 minutes, deliciousness. And I am talking all types of grilled cheeses too (traditional sliced American to cream cheese and apples). Not everything uses oil either. I read the recipe book and made salmon with just a stick of melted butter (about 3 ounces). It that was for 4 healthy sized fillets with sliced lemon and a little bit of breadcrumbs. Most fish dishes though require you to cover the bottom with aluminum foil. To use the fryer, you just pull the basin out of the unit and lift the basket up. There is a safety clasp and a button you push to do this. All super easy. Then you just fill it with the food you want cooked, and use the digital timers and wait for it to be done. Never ever use it without the basket. The pot the fry basket sits in is what goes near the heating element. And it does get hot. To clean it, just use warm soapy water after everything has cooled. The directions say not to immediately wash any of it after use. You will want to keep the box it came in. It acts as a very nice storage box. The box is a bit on the big side at 13x14x13. It comes with a general direction booklet and a recipe booklet. They are both very informative. But I also went to the GoWise website and downloaded all sorts of recipe books. I thought this thing was just good for fried chicken and fries. It does so much more! ,,,do you remember shake 'n bake pork chops from the late 1960's through early 1980's when they were popular? It does them too! And now I devour them with a clear healthy conscious. This GoWiseUSA air fryer has a 1 year warranty.

                                        Tasty and healthy
This fryer is very easy to use. It has many preset settings that are geared to the type of food you are cooking. It also has the option for you to set the timer and temperature yourself. You can cook many different types of food (from appetizers to dessert) in the fryer. You can cook food in the included basket or pan. You will need to make sure you have room for the fryer because it is rather large and it takes up quite a bit of storage space. It is kind of heavy. I have cooked fried fish and french fries to grill cheese and they all came out perfectly. The fryer is easy to clean after cooking.

Easy to use to make fresh, healthier fried and baked foods!
This 3.7 quart electric air fryer/baker (see picture) makes great french fries (and many other items) without the hassle and potential hazard) of a big pot of cooking oil! It comes with a handy one-page quick start guide, a 16-page instruction manual, and a 30-page color picture recipe booklet. On our first try, we made a batch of delicious french fries (see picture) in amount 20 minutes. The clean up was very easy without having to deal with the large quantity of cooking oil that traditional method of cooking french fries would involve. They were so fresh and no preservatives were involved either (so, good for those with food allergies)! The front display is easy to read, for both temperature and time (see pictures). The frying basket is easy to remove an clean (see picture). I highly recommend this electric air fryer due to its ease of use, and its healthy cooking mode without a vat of grease! I only wish I could post more than six pictures because the recipe book covers 13 other recipes ranging from these fries pictured to bruschetta, bacon wrapped shrimp, salmon, tuna melt, cheesecake, brownies, and many more items. You will love this versatile kitchen appliance.

Air Fryer you should defintely consider
GoWISE USA 3.7 Qt. Digital Touchscreen Air Fryer is a different way to have fried foods and can also handle other kinds of cooking, too. I have two deep fryers, enjoy deep frying, but it poses problems in my kitchen. There are health issues and cleanup issues. When I fry oil goes into the air, even thought both have filters. The kitchen smells for hours of oil, it will eventually leave a film on the walls and then there is cleaning out the cooker. With air frying these problems aren't there. It uses very little oil, no smells are left behind or oil film. The cooking takes place in an enclosed machine with a small vent on the back. This is a good size unit at 3.7 Quarts, but might be small for big families. You put the food in a basket that is in the bottom half of the unit. The basket is non-stick and they tell you to be careful not to scratch it. Any excess food drippings fall through the basket to the bottom metal pan. For foods that don't drip, you can use aluminum foil to line the basket or put another all metal pan in the basket. The top half of the unit holds the cooking element which is a simple device with just a heating element, circulating fan and outside a digital control panel. It cooks by convection heating, hot air whirling around. The control panel on the outside is easy to use and setups up the whole process. Its really a snap to use once you get the hang of the temperature to set (up to 400 degrees) and the time (up to half hour). You normally need to check how its doing about half way through to turn and move the food around. A small glass window in the unit would have been nice. This ensures even cooking because the heat cooks more from the top. To get started they include a small recipe booklet with mostly snack recipes. The food I made was as good as any other kind of cooking and better with much less oil. The amount of oil you need is a learning process, some is needed to help the cooking process and give color to the food making it more appealing and crisp. It can be as little as a tablespoon or a spritz from a can of spray oil. Oil does impart flavor so less oil means the taste of oil may not be as strong. Now that I have this will be having and enjoying a lot more Fried Chicken my favorite. The fry cooker also handles a lot of other foods and can even do steaks that I will be trying out soon.
