Does this power a 1250 Yeti? Can it get wet and still function? Maybe a better question is what does one need to effectively charge small devices daily, power a couple lamps in the evening for a couple hours, and power a standard refrigerator through the night (average 7 hours) every day for 4-12 months; could it also power a washer for 2-4 loads of laundry once a week? ie does the Yeti 1250, with this solar 100W panel or another, have the durability and what else would go effectively with the Yeti to accomplish this for a household.
Asked by: Kat
The Yeti are not water resistant and should be kept dry. The Yeti 1250 can run a full sized refrigerator for usually 12+ hours, depending on its efficiency, how full it it and how large the fridge is; since refrigerators cycle on and off its obtainable to recharge the Yeti during the day as long as you have enough power going into it. Standard household dryers require far too much power for any Goal Zero Yetis to power. A typical dryer uses 3000 watts and a washing machine can use up to 2000 watts to heat water and 500 watts for spin cycle. They also require a 220V AC plug and the AC outlets on the Yeti 1250 are 110V. Always check the tech specs of appliances to see see if they will run before plugging them in. If you have any other questions concerning this please contact us by phone at 1-888-794-6250 or by email at support@goalzero.com Have a great solar day!
