Questions & Answers

Will this unit run a 13-amp circular saw?

Will this unit run a 13-amp circular saw?
Asked by: AG
No. And to the one below who said yes because of the "surge" capability I say hogwash. You know not. Surge is for momentary inrush type current draw like starting a motor (getting it to start spinning) or the increased surge amount when you first turn on an electric heating element, etc. This is for a split second only. Anything longer at "surge" will burn open your inverter (and that is what this is - coupled to a battery).

With the added two 30watt solar panels how long does it take to fully charge a near depleted battery

Also can I purchase panels and uses with smaller units? And do I need accessories other than a panel?

Time enough for you to take a day trip and get a nights sleep.

WHICH SOLAR PANELS DO I NEED WITH THIS UNIT?

I'm purchasing this unit to supply my home with emergency power. Please tell me what solar panels and other hardware I'll need? THANKS...
Asked by: ErskinB
A bank of 2000 to 3000 watt panels is a start. You must account for rain, snow, clood, night time, trees etc. And know that in this world each day will bring a little rain....in other words the more the merrier....6000 watts would be better than 3000 watts, etc....you can always improve when you are dealing with something as fickle as sunlight....

How much power is 1250 watts? What appliances.can it run continuously?

Asked by: Paul13
1250 watt-hours: 200 wats for about 5 hours, 125 wats for about 8 hours; there are internal power converter losses that reduce total delivered power. You will need to budget your use, and the control paned will show you current watts being used, and an estimated remaining power (scale shows 20% increments). My older GE 18+cf home refrigerator uses about 175 watts, so expect about 6 hours.

Runs inside refrigerator for about 6 to 8 hours, through most Edison / storm power outs. No gasoline. Stores indoors. Easy setup, plug in to use, easy to use, easy to recharge. Controls display easy to understand. Have this model for about 1-year. Its a little heavy, so I keep it near the refrigerator. (it would be easier on 4 wheels). Totally meets & exceeds my expectations.
