Q:what size diameter is the assembly rod and will it attach to the garden pole shown on the Home Depot web page from the same mfg?

Answer This Question

A:  Good question. If you would like the weathervane to come with a garden pole then you should order the 'Blue Heron Garden Weathervane - Pure Copper with Garden Pole' and not the Cottage Weathervane. The only difference between the cottage and garden styles is the mount it comes with. The heron will fit into our 403C garden pole NOT the 403R garden pole.       Q:Is this too large for an 18" cupola? If so, which would you recommend?

      A:  Good question. Typically, we recommend the weathervane be either 2 - 3" larger or smaller than the cupola width. I would recommend the 8805PA Cottage Heron with Arrow for an 18" cupola. This heron with arrow is 21" long and 17" wide. Please contact us at 800-853-3002 if you need additional information.

        A:  Hello. Yes, our weathervanes can be mounted on a metal roof. Typically, there is a substructure below the metal. The mount needs to be securely screwed into that substructure. Depending on the size of the weathervane you choose you need either the 401AL (most weathervanes) or 401LG (Very large weathervanes).

          I simply love this "Good Directions brand." Blue Heron Cottage/Garden Size Weathervane. It is made of pure copper and made to last. It is very appealing and a great addition to anyones rooftop, gazebo capola, or as I have done placed the item on a pole in the yard. I am very happy and proud to display this quality piece in my yard. The item comes as a kit with roof mounting hardware included. Very simple to assemble and if you need additional help they have a help video on the web. This particular Weathervane is one of their smaller pieces and perfect to mount on a smaller backyard shed and such. I actually also have 2 of their larger weathervanes I like them that much. An Eagle and the Mermaid. They are weathering and growing more beautiful as time goes by as the copper of course looses its shine and ages wonderfully.
