    A:  Great question. All our cupolas are weathervane ready. This means there is a hole in the top of the cupola and a cross bar inside the roof with a mount in it with a set screw. The cupola also comes with an insert for the top hole in case a weathervane is not installed. Any additional questions please contact us at 800-852-3002.

          The cupola was very well packed for shipment and arrived with no damage....to be such a large item. The predrilled holes for putting the three sections together made the job very easy...after getting the base mounted to the roof. Looks great!

          Wow what a beautiful coupla wr found. We picked it up form homedepot in a pickup truck. It was 36" x 49". We went with the Smithsonian eagle from good directions. We painted it with vinly safe paint to match our trim. The copper is breathtaking! Love it! We used a paint sprayer to paint it.

            When I was in elementary school, our next door neighbor had a cupola with a weathervane on the roof of his garage. When I was a teenager I lived in that house and grew to love the practical, simple beauty of the cupola. It was the subject of several of my more memorable photographs as I started to train for a career in photojournalism. I never made the grade in photojournalism, but I still like to see an old barn or carriage house with a cupola, so I thought I'd try to capture a little bit of that in my suburban neighborhood. Installing the cupola is a multi-step process that begins with a climb up onto the peak of the roof to measure the angle. This sounded straight forward, but my roof just has to be special, right? The ridge vent (see photos) will necessitate one of two extra steps; either a complex cut or removing chunks out of the ridge vent. So, this is where my installation adventure ended. I love the style and quality of the cupola, but my wife was right, I need to find a professional with some roofing experience (and a longer ladder) to make it fit. Certainly nobody's fault but my own, so I have no complaints about the product or the really decent installation instructions.

            Perfect Accent
            This Coventry 26 in. x 26 in. x 35 in. Vinyl Cupola is the finishing touch on my storage barn. I like the idea of using vinyl, it is colored all the way through, making it weather resistant and no need to paint. I received it compactly packed in one box. The assembly was easy, using all the enclosed hardware. I followed the factory directions for securing it to the roof. I did add screening to the inside of the louver areas, to prevent our mud dauber bees from accessing and building nests. We also gt a lot of hornets. I am very pleased with the finished product, and have received numerous compliments already.

            Poor quality control
            The internal weathervane mounting bracket was welded crooked. I needed to hammer the 18" large rod into the bracket. Subsequent to that I needed to cut down the 11" small rod so that the black part of the rod wasn't showing. Not impressed with the directions. An email was sent to the good directions company with no response.
