This is a stunning weathervane with clean workmanship made of beautiful natural brass and copper. Design is lovely and execution is clean. Instructions are clear and precise. Includes variable angle mount for use on either pitched or flat roofs. Super simple to install with one note. Due to the metallic nature of this weathervane you may want to pick up some bare grounding wire and run it to a stake beside the building to take any lightening hit to ground. A truly lovely addition to any rooftop.

The Good Directions Mermaid with Starfish is a work of art; we love it and give it 5 stars! This 33 inch long beauty is a handmade work of art. It is made of pure copper and the mermaid is decorated with exquisite gold leaf. The Mermaid is the perfect, functional nautical touch to cap off our boat house.
The weathervane comes with simple, easy to understand directions. It was easy to assemble, everything was packed, wrapped well and it all arrived in perfect condition (see photo). Total unpacking and assembly took less than 30 minutes.
You will need to order your mount separate, they are not expensive. Since our boat house has a ridge vent running the entire roof crown we opted to use an eave mount (Good Directions product code: 585S). The mount is well made, nicely power coated, and it came with all needed hardware. Total mounting time took less than 30 minutes (see photos).
In summary; we are impressed with the beauty of this item, it is something we will keep forever. It comes with a limited life time warranty.

Beautiful Hand Crafted Weathervane
The assembly instructions were easy to read and understand. The copper Mermaid is absolutely beautiful and the brass compass letters are flawless. The two brass globes do fit loose on the shafts but won't affect the operation because there only there for appearance. There is no hardware included for mounting the weathervane but the roof mount can be purchased. My wife wants to attach it to a pole and place it in her garden which I will do in the spring. The copper mermaid is hand crafted from a clay mold made by hand by American Artisans.

In a word Beautiful
Okay I could of picked a warmer day to set up this weathervane as it was only a high temperature of 34 degrees today and windy. But I could not wait as upon opening this item from the box I was amazed at its beauty and wanted to get it up and functioning right away. To describe this item in one word. BEAUTIFUL is the first word to come to mind. 7 seperate pieces to put together in a easy couple of minutes. I choose to set my mermaid on top of a 4X4 post which I also have solar spotlight and solar powered 110 volt outlets also mounted on same post for outdoor electrical needs. Mounting materials are not included with the weathervane but very easy to order if you choose to attach to a rooftop cupolas or rooftop. The company has how to videos on youtube that explain what you need and how to install it. I did not see any installation videos for mounting on top of 4X4 posts but it is not difficult to do it took me all but 10 minutes and that was to also grind down the head side of a half inch bolt so I could drive the smooth end down into the 4x4 after boring out a 1/2 inch hole in the center top post about 5 inches deep and then driving the bolt in the post leaving threaded side up to connect the threaded weathervane post base. Easy and simple. Works perfectly and is a beautiful addition to my backyard which I will enjoy for the rest of my life. The copper is new and extremely shinny which will in time age and get better. Please check out my pictures as I believe once you get a look at this beauty you will want one for your yards or rooftops as well.
