Garbage
Bought this camera because Google is discontinuing the original indoor nest cam. Compare quality of the camera images at night to the original… the reflection is so bad from the night vision light you cannot even see past the window, but the original… just like it was outdoors. Don’t waste your money unless you just want it for watching inside… yeah I could buy an outdoor camera and pull the wire through the attic or I could buy an indoor camera and stick in the window. And need different app!

The Night Vision feature on your Nest camera may be affected by internet speed and we recommend removing some of your connected devices to free up some bandwidth for your network. Once you verify there is congestion, then you may need to contact your Internet service provider for resolution,
Here are some steps as well that you can carry out to fix the issue:
- Clean the lens with a soft cloth that’s made for cleaning optics. Dust, thumbprints and dirt can cause poor image quality.
- Turn your camera so that any nearby surfaces or objects (like a wall) are out of view.
- Use the Google Home app to zoom and enhance and crop out surfaces or objects that may be causing glare.
- If you see a bright white shape along the edge while everything else is too dark, there might be a surface that’s too close in your camera’s view (like a wall). Angle your camera so the surface stays out of view.
- Move nearby objects that may be reflecting the infrared light.

Amazing Indoor Camera!!

It is packed with many useful features.This Google nest indoor camera performs very well and the initial setup and installation is super easy and quick.Just download the Google home app,add the camera using set up device option, scan the QR code ,just enter your Wifi information and setup complete.First of all I loved the sleek design of this camera,it looks great.The wide-angle lens is the best I’ve seen in terms of clarity and coverage. I love that it has two-way audio.The picture clarity is impressive and even in low light, you get a very clear picture. Night vision shows good images and day time images are crisp and clear. You can check the live feed any time through Google home app.microphone is extremely good that picks up the smallest noise across a room. The motion sensing is very sensitive and reliable.Notifications is very fast ,camera sends the notifications when it hear any sound.Camera came with the screw which can be used to mount it on the wall or simply you can put it at your preferred place.It provide 3 hours rolling window,you can check up-to 3 hours back video and if you wants to add the memory and wants to see/save more old video,you can go for Nest Aware subscription with a nominal fee which help you to get up-to 60 days of video history. I'm blown away by how much value is packed into this device-Easy setup,Night vision is excellent,Motion Detection and alarm,tilting and zooming,3 hours video history and lot more.I would definitely recommend this camera to everyone..

Real-time image return
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Camera was easy enough to set up, however, the Google Home app can be confusing trying to set it, especially to set up "home" and "away" settings. I wish it was easier to just set it "on-demand" and not follow if my phone is nearby or not.
A couple of really nice features are that it shows the image in real-time, unlike Amazon Blink cameras that have a 4-5 second delay. Additionally, the images are very clear.
Another nice feature is being able to set it to detect an animal or person. This works perfect. I set it to detect if my dog if he jumps on the bed, and it alerted me immediately.
Overall, I would recommend this camera but just be prepared to spend some time tweaking the app to get it to do what you want (which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5).

Exactly what I needed for new home!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just recently purchased a new home in a neighborhood that is still under construction and we have lots of construction going on around us which means constant workers coming in and out of our road and right beside our house on both sides. I wanted to put up a camera on the side that my office is on because that’s what gets the most foot traffic from random people and they have had some issues with appliances getting stolen out of some of these homes that are currently unoccupied so this has gave me some piece of mind. The main thing for me is setup and the ease of use and you can’t really get any simpler then this. It has a QR code sticker on the camera and all you do is scan for it to walk you thru setup which takes about 3 minutes. Something I didn’t realize it did but it does the facial recognition like our nest doorbell and also senses carbon monoxide and smoke detectors. Camera quality is very good as well (see photo) plan on grabbing another for the back deck as well!

Great home camera

Simplicity, Premium built with AI features
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This indoor camera has a simple, clean and minimalist design. The build in quality is premium, remind me of apple product. The base is heavy and the speaker quality among the best I have seen in indoor camera. The Artificial intelligence features are very impressive. This camera is able to detect windows breaking or carbon monoxide/ smoke detector sound and send an alert instantly. Also able to recognize objects like people faces, animal or other moving objects like car. Although some of these features like familiar faces detection or 911 call require subscription to nest aware. I can set the camera to auto off when detecting my presence at home and automatically turn on when I’m away using geofencing. The google home installation is pretty straightforward. Just need to scan the QR code to begin with. Make sure to keep the QR code sticker safe somewhere else as the camera itself doesn’t have QR code on it. Include free 3 hours of rolling cloud video recording. 3 hours might seems short but I didn’t turn the camera on when my family and I at home so 3 hours can covered days, weeks or even month worth of recording unless you have lots of traffic.

Great clarity!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve always wanted to get an indoor camera to keep an eye on our dog. We sometimes leave him for a few hours and I’ve wondered How he’s doing. This was a perfect solution. A camera that is high quality, easy to use, and simple to install. Installation took less than 5 minutes and I was able to add the wife for access to the cam as well. The quality of video is superb. Now we can keep an eye on Rufus when we’re not home!

Another terrific Nest product!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the opportunity to set up and utilize the Nest Cam for Indoor use in my own home. This camera is remarkably simple to set up, as it paired with our existing Google Home platform immediately after scanning the units QR code. Installation and updated took approximately 5-minutes, as this cam is practically plug and play. The Nest Cam, although wired, is sleek in design and small enough to sit conspicuously on a small table or shelf. I love that this camera has the option for mounting, although my daughter's dresser served as a terrific height for viewing the entire desired space. We opted to utilize this cam in my 4-year-olds room for safety purposes, in lieu of a bulky baby monitor. I love that we can view live footage only when needed, and love the peace of mind of being able to check in on her during the night, if needed, with no disruptions. Clarity on the Nest Wired Cam is overall good; night vision slightly less clear but still quality. Settings ant notifications are easy to navigate through the Google Home app. Video lag is minimal. The LED on the camera face changes color when live view is on. This camera has some really terrific features, and recording capabilities if desired. If you are looking for a wired cam for security or personal use, I highly recommend this product.

The best security camera for your Google Nest!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been looking to get an indoor camera to go with my Google Nest Hub for watching the rear entrance to my house and I really wanted to keep it another Google product for ease of install and use so it was a no brainer to give the Google Nest Cam a try and I am pleased with the quality of the camera itself and the picture, the setup was super easy as I have come to expect from Google products!
The package includes everything you need to wall mount the camera should you choose to do so. The face plate that goes against the wall also doubles as the base of the camera and in my case I have the camera setting on a counter. The base has a really nice high quality grip on it and the camera itself has some heft to it so if you are going to place it on a flat surface like I did, it isn't going anywhere easily. The set up is fast and easy as the camera comes with a sticker that has the QR code on the front so you don't have to open up the camera and try to find the code to link it to your nest hub. You just open Google home, choose set up device from the menu and it will try to scan for it then ask you to scan the QR code, enter your wifi information if it isn't already saved and you have to click through a couple of prompts but the Google home app does all of the hard work. It took me about 5 minutes and then the camera was ready to go. I love how you can choose to get notifications for people or motion in the camera's view.
As I said before the setup was near seamless and fast, as I have come to expect from Google products, especially those designed to be used with the Nest hub. The picture feed is lagless from everything I have viewed it on and picture quality is top notch!
