Doesn't hold, peeled paint off wall
Used multiple squares to hold trim piece onto the wall weighing 1lb. Did not hold for more than 3 days, putty stuck to the wall and peeled the paint. Would not use again or recommend anyone to use this.

              Mounting putty holds tight
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great product. I tried the mounting putty to replace using magnetics to hold items on the refrigerator. The magnets tend to slide down for heavy or thick items, but the mounting putty holds tight. I like the fact that the putty is sliced into usable squares which takes the guess work out of choosing the right amount. Plus, its ready-to-use; no kneading necessary. The putty is reusable and easy to remove with no sticky residue. Highly recommended.

I ordered the Gorilla 2 oz mounting putty because I wanted to see how it did holding small appliances on the counter in place AND holding lightweight pictures on the walls. In both instances, the putty did fantastic! I simply cut the little pre-lined 1/4" squares with a pair of scissors, attached to the four corner of the picture frame and the bottom of a small microwave and presto - instant sticking! No more sliding of the microwave when my BnB'ers attempt to open the door, and no more of my picture on the wall moving when people 'touch' it to see how it feels! Love it, and I'm I'm sure I'll find plenty of other uses for this putty as well.

I first saw a product like this when I was at university, I was housed in a historic building, and we were not allowed to put anything into the walls, nails pins etc. That stuff was bright blue and would stain the walls. The Gorilla mounting putty, honestly looks like old gum in that its beige, but it doesn't stain, allows for light weight times like receipts or pictures, and while I haven't tested the full 2 lbs, it did hold my phone to the wall. I don't always want things up permanently and this product works great, comes off clean when you are done, and you can re use it as long as you give it a new squish. The packaging was good, and allows for reclosure so the rest of the package doesn't go bad.

Gorilla Glue Mounting Putty is a great idea for hanging light weight items. It’s the perfect alternative to not have to use tape or push pins that can ruin walls and paint. I did have an issue separating the squares, probably using a knife or scissors is a better idea than pulling them apart to separate. The putty worked perfectly in my office to hang a poster on a wood door where tape never worked. I would say the Gorilla Glue Putty will have many more uses and it’s great to have on hand.

Great stuff. So many ways to use it. I've used it to hang string lights for a backyard party. My wife uses it to hang party decorations all over the house. Never pulls the paint off or leave any marks. We also use it to help keep that stubborn picture on the wall straight. Kids use it to hang posters or any pictures in their rooms. Nice not to make holes in the walls.

I think I’m going to have a bunch of uses for this putty, but my first use was to fix a large picture that kept coming off of it’s wood base. I didn’t need to do anything fancy but pull a fairly small bit of putty off and attach it to the picture, and then pressed firmly to the wood for about 30 seconds. It’s been holding great so far, much better than the glue I had used before. I’m going to start putting up more picture and small, lightweight frames with this instead of using a nail or similar method.

Received this Mounting putty as part of the Seed Program for an honest review. I had put up some string lights on my patio and made an electrical box so I could turn them on and off when plugging them in/out when I wanted to use them. As I did not want to be drilling into the uneven stone on a column, I looked for another way to attach the box and the cord coupler. I tried using Velcro, then double sided tape and even a combination of both. Nothing was working. So I figured I’d give this putty a shot at holding everything in place. As you’ll see in the pictures just a dab in the corners of the box and three dabs on the back of the connector did the trick. The putty conformed to the uneven stone wall perfectly. It has been well over a week now with a heavy rainstorm and days in the high 90’s and it’s still holding fast. Figure if it works this great outdoors, inside will be a breeze also.

This Gorilla mounting putty is as exceptional as all the other Gorilla products I've used. You do need to read the instructions to make sure it will work for your project. I didn't and tried to stick a porous item with it and it did not work well. Also, make sure you cut the pieces off rather than tear them. Tearing just stretches the material and you have a mess. Otherwise, follow the instructions and this stuff is great. Super easy to hang pictures - as in my example.
