Can this be used for sealing concrete planters

Asked by Mj June 17, 2020
1
Answer

Concrete is extremely porous; as such, we recommend using a solvent-based sealer, which you can find at The Home Depot. The Stone Care Experts at Granite Gold®

Can this be used on Pedriafina?

Asked by GL June 11, 2020
1
Answer

Piedrafina is an engineered, non-porous surface; as such, it does not require sealing. You can, however, use Granite Gold® cleaners and polishes for routine cleaning and to enhance shine and luster. The Stone Care Experts at Granite Gold®

Can it be used on Quartz?

Asked by Marbles May 17, 2020
1
Answer

Quartz is fabricated (sometimes it is called engineered or man-made) with more than 90 percent crushed natural quartz and resin. It is nonporous and does not require sealing. Because it is fabricated with more than 90 percent natural stone particles, it is susceptible to the harsh chemicals found in common household cleaners. They’ll dull the surface over time and wear away the professional finish. A common fallback recommendation is to just clean with dish soap and water; realistically, it’s not the best recommendation. That combination is prone to leaving streaks and it’s not really formulated to clean the surface any more than its formulated to clean anything but dishes. For routine cleaning, use Granite Gold Daily Cleaner® or Granite Gold Quartz Brite®, which is combination cleaner and polish for quartz surfaces. The Stone Care Experts at Granite Gold®

I have used other products before that ave been sprays mostly to clean my stone counter tops. It is my own fault I didn't read this product data better but these wipes are meant to be a sealing component in a 3 step system of cleaning, sealing, and then polishing. They seemed to work just fine but for myself I kind of prefer and all in one, one step solution for my counters unless you have sone really exceptional circumstances.

(What's this)
Convenient concept but doesn’t perform as well as liquid sealers. I compared these Granite Gold sealer wipes to Dupont Stonetech liquid sealer. Before I began the sealing test I first cleaned the countertops with Granite Gold cleaner as instructed. I applied both products to different parts of the countertop. I found the wipes much more convenient they come out of the package pre-moistened. You just wipe. The Dupont liquid sealer is much more difficult to apply. You have to mask off adjacent areas (such as drywall/wood) and you have to let the liquid soak in for 10-15 minutes. Also the Dupont product has a strong smell. But the Dupont product worked better on my porous limestone counter. Water left for 15 minutes soaked in where I used the Granite Gold product and left a water mark. But the area treated with the Dupont product did not (see photos). I suspect the amount of sealer applied by just using a moistened wipe (granite gold) just doesn’t compare to having liquid (Dupont) sit on the counter and penetrate during application. For tough to seal stone I would say pass on the wipes.

(What's this)
The pads are nice and thick, so they do not tear easily. The moisture content on the wipes were inconsistent. Some areas of the pad were wetter than others, while some areas were noticeably dryer. I tested this on a 36" granite top. One pad is plenty to cover this size top. You will need to buff the area with a rag after applying the sealer (before it dries out), or you will end up with a filmy haze. I tested the top after 2 applications of the sealer. It did seem to seal the top, as water would bead up when tested. I tried to take pictures, but it was too difficult to see the beaded water on the granite top in the picture. The package has an easy pull resealable sticker on the front to keep the wipes from drying out. The problem with this I discovered was that the area around the wipe pull out slot would get bubbling liquid sealer from the wipes you pull from the package. This would make it difficult to reseal the package, even if you wiped it off. There would always be a gap that let air in. A zipper seal of some kind would be better than this sticker based one. I ended up putting the entire package into a large ziplock bag.

I'm always concerned when I get any type of wipe in this type of packaging. Either cleaners, baby wipes or furniture polish always seem to dry out before I use all the wipes. That being said, I was pleased with the sealer sheets, they are big enough to fit my hand and are really sturdy. My counter tops are about a year old so I wanted to reseal areas that are at risk of food stains like tomato sauces and grease splashes. Also around areas that water pooling by sinks. The instructions are clear that if let dry may leave hase. I really was Very careful to wipe and buff with microfiber cloth. I put 3 layers per instructions in the high risk areas. The finish looks great but haven't had any sauce spillage yet to test.

Great stuff for granite counter tops -- simple, effective, and seems to last. Just clean the counter top, wipe with the sealer wipes, and buff it off before it dries. The directions suggest multiple coats, but even one, left overnight, made a clear difference when compared to the untreated stone -- glossier, smoother finish, and liquid beads up. Keep in mind this isn't polish -- Granite Gold makes that as well -- but it will protect your counters from stains. Non-toxic and biodegradable. Recommended.

(What's this)
The sealer wipes are well packaged and has a good amount in one pack. They covered all my counters and bathroom tiles with some remaining. They are super easy to apply since they come in large sheets so I just applied, waited for it to dry, and wiped it again. The granite sheets are more convenient than liquid sealers and I used it on more than granite surfaces. I feel more confident that the surfaces are well protected, seeing that water beads on the surfaces.

The Sealer wipes are a great idea for quick sealing of stone surfaces in my kitchen and bath. With the wipes I get an even coat of sealant on the stone. Once you wipe it on you are to buff it out, don't let it dry on the surface for it will leave streaks. With a soft cloth I buffed it out to a super shiny finish and made the counter look new. The package contains 6 8"x 8" clothes. Allows me to do it once a month without the hassle of storing some huge bottle. Great idea for keeping the stone finish looking like new.

The counter wipes are to be used for sealing your granite. You don't use these every day, but just a couple times a year. The wipes are thick and heavy duty. I was able to use one wipe for all of our counter. I am not sure how well it seals because this can only be measured over time. There is no odor and they are safe to use without gloves. Absolutely no obnoxious odor. I wish the bag had a zip lock sealer, so you don't have to throw them in another bag to prevent them from drying out.

(What's this)
We have some rare blue granite. The focal point of the kitchen. After about 3-4 years I noticed that the high traffic work spots were showing wear. I also had an area under the coffee maker that was really bad because of the heat. Something had to done to prevent excess wear in the future. I have other Granite Gold products and it is my go to brand. Granite Gold makes it easy to seal my granite with their Sealer Wipes that come in a resealable package. The wipes are thick. They had the right amount of moisture to seal my marble table. There was enough sealer in the wipes to go over all my counter tops three times. [ wait 20 min between applications]. It is easy process. Once you apply the wipe to your stone you can just follow up with a micro-cloth before it dries. It is that easy. They are water based, Non-toxic, and Non-acidic. I like the fact that There was no need to put on gloves because Granite Gold Sealer Wipes are safe for your hands. It just made it that much easier and quicker to apply. The end product finish made the granite shine like new. Very good product for maintaining your investment.

(What's this)
Granite Gold's sealer wipes are a convenient and quick way to seal your granite surfaces. Following the listed directions, I cleaned our existing 20 plus year old granite kitchen counters with Granite Gold's Daily Cleaner. Then, a pre-moistened wipe (and they are fully filled to the point of dripping) onto the stone. (You can see the white liquid emerge from the cloth if you squeeze excessively.) Immediately, after doing an approximate three foot square area, buff that area dry. A lint-free cloth was used with great effectiveness. Like suggested, the surface dried 20 minutes before we did a second coat of application and buffing. It is quick easy to do. The surface does look great. However, neither I nor my wife see any difference in shine or effectiveness against water or other liquids on the surface afterwards as compared to before the application of the Granite Gold Sealer. Maybe this granite was sealed years ago in a special manner; maybe it isn't effective on our type of granite; or maybe it doesn't do too much: We don't know. My wife did see a haze in spots, that she buffed out. Other reviews rave on this product, but we saw no difference on our granite counter tops. But the story doesn't end: We tried it on our the fireplace's stone hearth, which I think is slate. It seemed to never have been sealed or it has never been taken care of over the years. With just one treatment, It looks fantastic!
